Hi Mylot Friends,
It's Saturday here in the Philippines and time for me and my family to do the weekly general cleaning. One of the things that we clean is our refrigerator. It feels so good ensuring that our refrigerator is clean enough...no leftover foods, dried vegetables, sauce spills, sticky juices, expired milk and thick ice inside the refrigerator.
How about you friends...how often do you clean your ref and what are the things that you used to see that need to be taken out to clear your refrigerator?
Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi,
I like to keep my fridge clean and I do the cleaning once a month.
On the day of cleaning, I won't buy any vegetables and whatever leftover
foods, I have to take out all and then only I can wipe clean the fridge.
Then I will sort all those leftover spices nicely into small container,
make some remarks and it makes me easy to find when I need them in
future.
I will arrange those foods nicely with container or wrap whatever vegetables I have
in the fridge with thick plastic bag to keep the freshness.
Feel fresh and good when I see my fridge is clean and smell good.

Cleaning refrigerator is a must. Reason 1. to keep it clean and tidy 2. to maintain the running capacity of the machine; which can save electrical consumption and reduce your electril bills and eventually save money and 3. and so that foods and things we keep inside are saved and preserved for our consumption.

cleaning regularly is the best way to keep our refrigerator safe,
and we can put charcoal inside to keep odorless or reduce the foul smell
or odr.

Hi msfranciso~ I try to keep on top of the spills as best as
I can when they happen. I usually clean the refrigerator out
about once a month before I do my big monthly grocery shopping.
That way I get to check what is old and has been left in the
back of the refrigerator and check the dates on things to make
sure that everything is fresh. It also helps me to see what I
need to replace. I do the same thing with my freezer so I
can move the older frozen meats to the top and put the newer
meat on the bottom!

Hello my beautiful Winks...We never clean our ref the way you always do because we never have lot of foods to be refrigerated. This means money scarcely landed on us regularly..(honestly)..The most usual things to be taken out first are the bottle of waters because as what I had said there's no lot of things inside our ref to be cleaned of because our ref is always clean..(nothing inside)..and I would not be ashamed to tell you about that(who cares you never know me!!ha ha )...twice or once a month maybe, that's the frequency of our ref cleaning...
Please don't tell any of our friends about our Refrigerator....

This is something that I tend to do on a light basis every time that I go to the grocery store (so about once a week). However, on a more heavy basis I only tend to do it about once a month. When I have leftovers, we typically eat them within a few days and milk never has a chance to expire in our house since my son would drink an entire gallon of milk himself each day if I would let him do it. The shelves and such are removed for a deep cleaning about twice a year because it really is a job that can take quite a lot of time to complete.

Hi there! It takes me a month or so before having a complete and thorough cleaning of my refrigerator. Ensuring the cleanliness of the fridge can be pleasant to the eyes most especially to my MIL's eyes. Actually, she's the one that almost everyday take things in and out of the fridge, arrange everything and throw away even those things and medicines that can still be useful.

We also clean our refrigerators on a weekly basis. We make sure to throw foods that are already not good for consumption. This will relieve the refrigerator from foul smelling and will definitely keep any bacteria or germs from settling in. It is also advisable to clean and defrost the refrigerator on a regular basis to save on electricity.

Well, anytime I see a spoiled fruit or veggies, much more I wanted to clean it but due to time constraints, I can't, so I just removed that old stuff and wife a wet clean cloth. But I make sure to have it cleaned at least once a week, especially when we need to replenish our stocks. Just like you, weekend would probably best time.

Well... i just cleaned my ref a moment ago. I use to clean it twice a month. I dump some leftover foods, dried vegetables and clean it and wipe it after. Then i clean all the containers and water dispensers. It's nice to open the ref if its clean right?

Hi msfrancisco9369, I would like to have my fridge cleaned whenever it looks really indecent with thick layer of ice sticking on the inner walls especially in the freezing tiers. I try to finish all the stuffs that left in the freezing tiers so that they wouldn't turn bad after they are removed from the cold area. other than not purchasing any new stock it still needs time to clear most of them.
After pressing the defrost button it would take some time to let the defrost water to drain away get. When the accumulated ices have totally defrosted and drained away thoroughly I then get all the stuffs out from the fridge. I star the cleaning to work from the top part of the fridge. I seldom have meat and seafood stored in the fridge so it's easy to clean. The morning wet market is quite near to our house and we always get the required amount of such fresh stuffs just for a single day only. We have more fruits in our fridge. I wash the containers for storing fruits and vegetable under the tap straight away.
Happy posting

Somebody might get lost in your post. REF = short for refrigerator, I do clean my fridge once or twice a month since I don't have that much time of cleaning in my hands, for busy schedule often though, there are even times, I forgot to clean it in a month, lol . I don't have much to worry though, since I don't have kids with me who spill or place a lot of stuff in the fridge, lol. I do have precautionary measures before I put my stuff in fridge storage, usually place some containers first and things like that.

we clean our ref when it is time to defrost the freezer. Usually we clean it once a week to get rid of leftover foods or spoiled vegetables. We put baking soda inside the fridge to get rid of the smell. If baking soda is not on hand we use charcoal instead.

Everytime you clean the refrigerator, it will also be good to check on the expiration dates of the items inside. For all you know you maybe keeping an expired product.
After cleaning you can put a few pieces of charcoal inside a plastic container and place it inside the refrigerator. This will absorb the remaining odor.
