Competing and comparing ourselves with others can cause only two things. It can cause an attitude of pride because we deem ourselves to be better than others, or an attitude of insecurity because we deem others to be better than we are. Both of these attitudes are ungodly and should be avoided. We all have our baggage we try to hide in Public. Despite how wonderful we may appear to others, we all make mistakes. We have strengths and weaknesses, and we do things right and we do things wrong by knowingly or unknowingly. But we always struggle to try to be appear good. I think whole life will be like a battle in between good and bad deeds. Please share with me about this.
God Bless you all and happy weekend.

I am proud to be me, sweetie.
I won't compare myself to others as each one of us are unique in our own ways.
Pride can cause some to think they are better, but one day they will wake up and smell the coffee, i hope.
I have made a lot of mistakes in my life, but i have learned from them.
People should accept others for what they are.
You cannot be or appear what you are not.
That would make your life miserable.
We will never be perfect, no matter how hard we try.
TATA.

I'd rather try to mold myself to the liking of others so that within weeks the figure out that I'm not perfect for them as my real self comes out and I definitely learn from that-"what women want" from men and I think that's best before getting involved into a long term relationship.

There is one thing that is perfect in each human being and that is that we are imperfect! As a Zen practitioner I feel that we learn through all our trials and tribulations and that we will make many mistakes, for without them, we will not grow spritutally. We need to let go of the things that we think we have done wrong and as this is in most cultures, this is not an easy task because we have been conditioned by our society, about what is right and what is wrong. In Zen meditation I get glimpses of the futility of feeling "wrong" about what is past, and even what was "right" about it. It no longer exists, and all I need to do is to learn from whatever mistake I made and move on into the present that is constantly with us. _Derek

Hi derek_a, true, we don't know some times what is right and what is wrong. By the way what is this Zen meditation? Is it different from normal meditation. I will do meditation in the morning hours. True we are learning things from our past experiences. Some times mistakes also make man to think about it try to rectify it and that will make man perfect too. Thanks for your nice response. Have a great day.

Jotomy of course not, only God is perfect. In regard to myself I am just me trying to be the best I can but looking to God for guidance always.
I have come to like myself, as I am unique, one of a kind, just like all of you out there. I think we must like ourselves if we are to like and love our fellow human beings. I do not struggle to appear good, I just am me and am doing t he best I know how to be.

No, we will never be perfect and if we constantly strive for perfection we will risk being paralysed by this quest. I think we need to try our very best in life with the knowledge that we will make mistakes and if we accept those errors we have a real chance to grow and learn from our challenges. The way I see it we can be the best we can be and who knows if our errors are always mistakes?

to be perfect means to not commit any mistake.
for me, we are individually unique and must portray each role in our society in the best posiible way we could. to be completely perfect means you are extraordinary and must know all the correct things to do. it may be possible to have such characteristics only if he has that kind of power or better, you must be a superhuman to be able to perfectly portray such a role in life.

hi, generally we feel that it's only happening to us when anything bad happens to us and doesn't think the reasons behind that. we just start blaming ourselves and fate...I believe that what ever happens is for good for our sake no regrets...thank you.

Hi Jotomy,
We are perfect the way we are. :)
We should just be ourselves, and not try to mock or try to be something we are not. Of course, everybody cannot be a movie star. And they suck!
Take pride in yourself and at the same time be good with others.
Everybody tries with make-ups, and it really makes them look unnaturally ugly.

You are absolutely right with this one. If we never made any kind of mistakes in our lives, then I don't think that we would be human at all. Whether or not we want to admit it, there is not a human being alive that is perfect in every way. Others might not be able to see our faults, but they also know that there are faults about us no matter how hard we try to keep those faults hidden from those other people.

Well, nobody is perfect. But it is easier to say than to truly accept. We often rebuke others for their mistakes and ignore our own. We mistakenly believe that hiding one's weakness is the true strength. In reality overlooking one's own weaknesses only makes one more and more vulnerable day by day. The distinction between good and bad is quite vague. What is good to one may be bad to the other. Why do we choose perfection to be our ultimate objective then? What is then the use of being so much self critical? Why do we want to be perfect in the first place?
Well, the answer to all those question is that, we don't even know what we'll face in the end of our journey. But it is the journey that is the most important to us. We do mistakes and we rectify them, because it takes us one step ahead to perfection. We are not worried about what comes in after life. It is this life that we are interested in. So we wish to be perfect and complete and that very wish keeps us going.
Thanks.
God bless you

Hi biswa, yeah this life is like that biswa, people always strive to show some good apparently though they don't have. It is very ugly to see such things.
Your are nice philosopher too. What you said is true. It will take time to make ourselves to be perfect, but it is also a part of our life is it not. But in this battle our life may end also some times without become perfect.
Biswa read all the responses, you might get some information from these about the nature of the people. It may useful for your future articles.
Thanks for your nice response. Have a great weekend.

All of us strive to be perfect and in doing so we all know that perfection is an imaginary goal. We would never even know even if we attain perfection or we surpass it. Moreover, perfection is the finality and finality is the end. Only God is perfect. What we must try to do is that we must try to excel ourselves, rather than excel others or try to be perfect. That would be the right way of doing things.

Hi achilles, welcome to my discussion. I too agree that perfection is an imaginary goal and it depends from person to person. Yeah, it is a final one, when we feel nothing is there in this life to think and no need to live in the earth too. But i observed people will be striving for the perfection whole their life. Thanks for your good response. Have a wonderful day.

Well said; you're right. Nobody is born perfect; we should be contented with what we achieve and feel happy to those who achieved higher than us. The only problem with us humans is when we feel envious; either we imitate or we will try to crash the one that's more successful than us. Life indeed is a battle between good and evil. There's evil that's always lurking and waiting to strike; it is for us to choose between good and evil.

Hi mercedlegurpa, i totally agree with you. Yes this life is a battle between good and evil. I feel evil will come from the thoughts of envious as you said and also comparing with others. If we wouldn't compare with anyone and we stand as what we are then no problems everyone will be happy in this world. Thanks for your sharing. Have a good day.

Hi! I agree with you. Being contented is the name of the game. Being in whatever situation, whether it may be good or bad, its still best to see good things with what you have and stop looking with what others have. Life's so temporary, it keeps on changing and we may never know who what's in store for us the next day. Each and every one of us has our own luck and own sorrows as well. We just have to still see good things in whatever bad things that happens to us, and be ready to smile and welcome everyday as new day for hopes and happiness. Good night!

Nobody has been, is and will be perfect!!! only Allah (the only God)is perfect. We may only try to be better than yesterday. The question which has to be considered deeply is for what and in what ways we should be better. I believe everyone has a different answer to this question and that brings up a new discussion...

Hi Jotomy, I agree with you that we should never compare ourselves to others as we will become either proud or bitter. Accept yourself as you are and others as they are. None of us can be perfect because everyone has their own idea of what perfection is, therefore we can never please everyone. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be happy with yourself. Blessings.

Jotomy, you are so right! Competition has become excessive has overtaken cooperation. It is divisive, while cooperation is unifying. The only person one should "compete" with is onesself, by trying to be and do better each day.
Of course none of us is perfect; that's why we need our perfect Lord and Savior to lean on and gently guide is toward our own betterment and His purpose for our lives.
All of life, from creation, to what is fast becoming "the end of days" is totally about the battle between good and evil. This is at the personal, global, and supernatural level - God v. Satan, Angels and Demons, our own inner nature, lower and higher, and political forces, under the aegis of "powers and principalities".
As for "human fallibility", here's a saying on a button I have:
P-B-P-G-I-F-W-M-Y: Please Be Patient, God Isn't Finished With Me Yet.

Actually, what's the point in being perfect in life? What do we have left to achieve? If life does not have any challenges, then it will be quite boring. After all, a few challenges is what makes life worth living. It allows us to push ourselves. However, if we are perfect or close enough to be considered that, then our lives just stagnate.
Still, we try our best and that's good enough for me. My best might not be as good as your best or it might be a bit better, or around the same, but still, as long as I strive to push myself above the adversiity and be as good as I can be, life will be satisfying enough for me. Mistakes will be made, but mistakes can be valuable. We can learn from them and grow to become better people.

We all make mistakes of course. As you said, no matter how hard we try, we just cant be perfect. Its part of our existence. I think these are oppositions and oppositions are important for us to know what is right and what is wrong and learn from the experiences that we have.

Now I am in my forties. I am satisfied with 'me'. I have spent much time to make 'Me' in my teens and 20s. Now this is not making 'me' period. just living period for me. So I live with whatever I am. With my goods and bads. At the same time I got used to live with my husband with his goods and bads. Now I am not young enought enough to make 'me'. So I accepte 'Me'. So now I am not scared for life. I hope in their 40s people get extra personality.
