Are you the type of person that would typically choose their friends over their family? You might say this is not possible, but i think there are people like this... those who would prioritize their friends, going out with them than staying at home and be with their family... ( on a regular basis ). I once see this in my brother, sometimes he would not mind my mom talking to him and he would always leave and go out with his friends, leaving us behind for the night and would only come home the next day as he is out drinking with his friends... So what about you? are you the kind who will choose friends over family?

Hi, For me, I will be a type of person who will pay my main concern to my own family members first, then only to my friends. Without my family members, I won't stand here now ,so they are definitely very important persons in my whole life. As for my friends, they are also important in my life. Without a friend, my life will be lonely and bore.

Family. Friends can stab you in the back and I've learned that the people who you can generally always trust is family. My friends mean the world to me but not as much as my family does. They are the people I'll walk to heaven and earth for, I would give them any money needed but there's a limit for friends because people change.

I love my mother and used to spend a lot of time with her, but I far prefer my friends (the family I chose) to my brother...

Family any day of the week. Family are the people that love you even at your worst. Family are people who welcome you back after you storm out calling them names in your wake. Family are those wonderful people that take you in when your life is falling apart. That being said, closest friends come in a near second, for I have friends who have gone the extra mile when for some reason my family simply could not. I will stand up for both and stand beside both in the time of trouble and hope I am half as strong as they have been for me.

One thing for sure I won't do that because I know when you ask help from friends it has limitations and of course it has a change as well. You wouldn't know how long they will be true friends until you find out that they already betrayed you. Sometimes you would understand of how come other people rather choose their friends over their family. It depends on the environment. Maybe a person came from the environment that is stressful that is why a person is looking for friends that will accept and understand his personality.

No I am not that kind of person who choose friends over family. My thinking is that everyone should choose family 1st and the other thing after that even the job you are doing and the friends are also included.Because it was the family that a 1st thing he saw when he/she came to this world(means born), that was the 1st relationship he got.....In our Indian culture we say family comes 1st..

i knew a lot of type of person also who has the same manners. in my case, i love my family differently from my friends. i always prioritize my family than my friends. but there are really instances that i have to go to my friends if its really important. and i would explained to them why i would do that. and they understand me either.

some people are just plain selfish, or self-centered. some people just want to be away from a dysfunctional family. who would want to stay in a family that is chaotic? i am not saying yours is, but there are always two sides of the coin, i am more a homebody when i was younger.

I am definitely a family oriented person, but my daughter is totally opposite. She hardly ever comes to family functions, and rarely even visits me, becuase she is too wrapped up with her friends. We've discussed this, and she always says she will do better about supporting family, but she never does. She doesn't even call to see if things are ok with us...that no one is sick or whatever.

I don't think it's easy to draw a line between family & friend. Sometimes friends are just too good, they are better than the family member. But no matter what, a family member will always prevail over any friend. Friends are always close to us but if we will try to go near family members they will also act as a friend to us.

Priority definitely should be accorded to family over friends. And a good friend should also follow the same principle - to see that his friendship is not getting either in the way of his family or the involved person's family. Family is an institution and friendship is needed to just to be more responsible.

My family has always come first for me. I treasure the friendships that I have but i can not put them before my family. Family will always be your family. They love you unconditionally. Friendships come and go. Your family is forever. I could never put anyone elso before them.

I choose family over friends because I can make my family as friends. However, I still go out with friends regularly but not reaching to the point of causing anxiety especially my parents. Obeying our parents is a key to success.

I am a family person.., though i've passed the stage in my life where i spent more time with my friends than at home.., That was when I was still in high school but as I became matured.., I came to value my family more.., and learn to prioritize them over other people.. so if i will have to choose between my family and any other person.., My family is always my highest priority..=)

There are different stages in the life of the person and each stage, the person may have different priorities. For instance, during infancy; the child's focus is on the mother. The mother is the one who is feeding the baby, giving all the needs that she wanted. During toddler and preschool years, the priority of the child is the family. He often has a close relationship with his parents and sibling. During adolescent times, I guess like your brother; His priority is his friends. The focus of teens is to find identity and so he is hanging out with those people that has the same likes and personality as he is so that he can find his self. You will often see them, hanging out with there friends rather than attending family affairs. But, maybe if the person has a close family ties from the start then he can also give enough time for his family. If the core foundation is good then the child will feel that he belong to something. He will seek the company of friends but he will still have time to perform his role in the family. If that is the problem then; maybe your family should spend a lot of time together so that all of your family members will have a veru close family ties.
