Do you add comment....even though its late?

How good a mylotter you are?....Have you thought about it?....Some people just add comment when their discussion is running...i mean they have started it recently...some do not care to do even that...they don't add a word even they get hundreds of responses....they keep on writing new discussions and forget the one they started earlier...this thought came in my mind...as I, after a long gap due to personal reasons...have started mylotting regularly...and clearing all my old mails..related to mylot...but I am worried ...will someone add comment to my responses

I go back often and for as long as the topic continues to receive responses and comments. I got a bit behind too but this week-end I will be catching up with all of them that are still waiting for me to add something. Goof to see you back and I hope it willbe for longer this time

I am one that welcomes comments and will respond no matter when. I feel that if someone was courteous to respond to my post then I will show the same courtesy to them. After all, this is a discussion place and not a post and run. From time to time I check my topics, though as of now I only have a few, to see if I missed anything. Happy Myloting!

you are absolutely correct friend...starting a discussion means that you have to talk on that topic and would like to share your views on it with your friends here...i find it bad manners...to start and show ur back

I agree! I see that some post and never respond to comments. When I notice this I will stop commenting on their posts and in the future, if they are on my friends list, I will delete such people because they may never even read my comment. So what is the point of me racking my brain to give some sort of intelligent comment?

If I feel like adding a comment, a follow-up comment to a discussion, it would not matter to me if its late already. Like they say, better late than never. At least you voiced out your opinion about it instead of keeping it just because its late already. I also even respond to discussions even if a member's post has already been chosen as the best response. I just needed to give my opinion out to make me feel better. :)

Thank you eshaan. :) It does feel good to express yourself, doesn't it? @Prudent- Right indeed. Most newbies don't tend to look back at the responses their discussion receives as what I've observed. But for those who really do, it really is encouraging them to participate more.

either of the person feels better dear meeming.....but i like your attitude...that you do it just to give your opinion...i like good and frank people like you @prudent.... you are right newbies feel very good when they get mails in their mailbox...that somebody has added comment to their response....i remembered my earlier days tc

Adding a comment will at least encourage, in particular, newbies to take active part in myLot. Otherwise, they feel very unattended and silently quit myLot in no time.

That is one of the reasons why I don't start discussions. I don't have the time to comment on the responses and it is a discussion so we should be making comments, othewise it wouldn't be called a discussion, in my opinion. When I had more time and was mylotting every day I started discussions because I had the time to continue talking to people on that subject. But now I only mylot a couple days a week so it wouldn't be fair for me to start discussions and not continue them. I do read all my comments I get on my responses, in my email box, but I don't always comment anymore unless there is something more to add to it. I used to not work outside of my home for 2 years because of health issues so I had lots of time on my hands back then and I spent hours and hours a day here so I had lots of time to discuss things with people so I would start them and continue on them for a week or so. Cheers, Chris

sometimes i find it a real joy when my old discussions are picked up and responded like u did now.....thanx !!! i agree that to make it a real discussion it is very enjoyable to keep talking with our friends here and continue the topic...but yes...time limits our activities...myself also coming after a long time and i have again accumulated about 300 discussions in my inbox pending to be sorted out...but yes...adding few words sooner or later makes a difference ...so i did it...most of the times...

The discussions on my lot are never closed, even after the one who started the discussion has awarded the best response vote. You may differ anytime with the author of the discussion or with the views of the answerer. Therefore, I feel one can comment anytime one want to.

hello dear! i think not all mylotters have time to comment back on their started ones.sometimes they are too busy with their life outside this site, that's why we can't force them to be here always.i think some of them used to start discussions just to seek help or ask for opinions of others to help them realize things about that topic they started. they just don't seem to have much time to get back because of too much busyness in life. i can understand them cause i can sometimes be like them also.i don't have time to get back that instant to comment back, but still i manage to comment to them when i have free time.i can also respond to other topics without having completed the comments on my started ones, for i can also be bored or want something new to discuss. we are like learning things here, and sometimes i also don't have much time to post, though i want to post comments,i can't do.i can only read. don't worry about those topics you started cause you can always check that back in your own profile page.what i worry sometimes is that when i do respond on topics i want but i can't get notifications from my mail.so that,i get back to my responded ones.which are hard to do,and takes too much time...

yes notification system of mylot fails many times....now also the responses i have got here...is showing wrong numbers in my mails...anyway i appreciate your views on this point...there is and should be no force i agree...but to make our responses meaningful ....the starter should add few words...that will give him appreciation and inspiration....

yes....it also takes lot of patience to understand what the responder wants to say especially when the response is big and deep like yours..through this discussion i met very enthusiastic mylotters like you...whom i was missing just by responding to my friends...now i feel that starting a discussion is also very important to know newbies here..i am proud of you youngsters having such a deep thinking on a topic

This discussion as been sitting inside my E-Mail for two months, I always have the word that I will respond to all discussions I receive within my inbox and I'm making up for missing it originally when I was away. Yesterday I responded to discussions that was almost two years, posted by members who are also missing in action.

I think that it's only polite to reply to all comments on your discussion, after that's how the site works and then people will return and comment on your other discussions. I'll admit sometimes I've had 3 comments and I've only replied once as my reply covered all comments as they were so similar.

though similar ...you should add few words to each of them....aren't each of them equally important? ...thanks

If I'm short on time I would much rather write one reply then none at all. It doesn't mean that one comment is more important then the other, I just think it shows that no one has been ignored. Although the time issue won't be a problem for me now as I'm out of work, so I'll be about here a lot more.

If it's an interesting discussion, someone will try to add a comment. This is why people should check to see if that discussion has been done before starting the same discussion. If your discussion is there, I should respond to it instead of starting a new one as the myLot terms say. If you get rid of your discussion, then someone else can start a discussion like yours. But if your discussion is there and I like it, I will respond to it. A lot of discussion Boards are like that. They keep the discussion going for a long time.

yes...when the topic is inspiring we do write ....but some people don't add comment to their own discussions....even if it goes 1 week old...i was talking about that...don't u think it shows your concern to fellow mylotters to write a line or two in return to their responses?

I try to add comments to all who respond to my discussions. Even if it's late. I think that's just a courtesy for all the people who made an effort to read and respond to my discussions. Plus, it is a good way to meet new people. People who might have interesting to say. And you want to be part of their discussions.

well, it's individual preferences at work there... ideas come and go, and their relevance sometimes doesn't have to do with time, like vegetables and other perishables... it's only a matter of putting to work preferences, discretion, and priorities...

Hi dear, Yes, I do. I will try my level best to respond all discussions. Few of my friends may know also it. As I am a full time employee and busy with a lots of works, I may not be able to attend all cases. But, still I will read and try to comment within 2-3 days time. The ones which are not in my knowledge and find difficult, I will ignore. Because, just for a talk, meaningless discussion is not worthwhile. So, I wish to be a good and decent contact with all and try to keep a phased and ordered response to all the posts. Regards, Thank-s
