Can my dear fellow mylotters help me drive sense into an elderly friend of mine who believes in losing his money? The person is a perfect example of the saying "a fool and his money are soon parted".Please suggest means to drive it into his head as he doesn't listen to reason?

hello picjim!
i have learned through experience that the most hardheaded people are those who are aged or elderly, especially when it comes to their money and the way to handle it. I don't know if that comes with the territory, or with their thought they are correct since they have been there already for a long time and should know better than we do.
I guess, if you can't let him see reason, then maybe you can find ways through media perhaps or other informative gadgets like magazines, to show him that his ways would not be the right way.. in dealing with financial matters. even with the truth glaring right before them, there are people who still don't believe unless they see someone of flesh and blood who had the same situation, to prove your point.

Hello deriellevc!I have been following the person for quite sometime now but without much success.I try to reason, without success. Each scheme he seems to leap without a care for the consequences, only to repent and make my life difficult as i'm the confidant.Even as he experiences extreme financial hardship, realisation doesn't set in.I'm at my wits end.
