I have been told that crying-out will lighten your feelings though the reason why you cried is still there, but it will unload some of the heaviness in your heart. However, after crying i have this feeling, especially if some people know that i cried, that maybe they will think of me as a weakling, that's why i really suppress it (of course to no avail). Was crying will make me weak in the eyes of others?

No it makes you look human. I can't stand people saying they don't cry and then hear afterwards they did cry. I had a female friend who came off as being this tough girl that can't cry. Until I saw her at school crying in a corner. Whooopz! And no I didn't perceive her as weak, just as a real human. Emotions are part of the equation.

Never think of it that way.... What others have to think about you doesn't matter.... When it lightens up the burden then why suppress it... Let it come out and release the tensions in your brain....

As far as I think, crying does not make week or strong. Crying is expressing your sad feelings. You cry when you are extremely sad or feel painful. The pain may be physical or mental(i.e. emotions). We laugh a loud when we are extremely happy and smile when we are in good mood. These are all expressing the feelings. Suppressing cry is suppressing a feeling of soreness and in no way it determines whether a person is strong or weak.
Moreover, you rightly said, if you are sad than crying will relieve you to some extent. It is very rightly said that, Sharing sorrow lessens it and sharing happiness increases it". So I don't think that strength of a person could be determined by suppressing the act of crying.
If you feel like crying. Cry. If you feel like laughing. Laugh. People are always to speak either from this side or the other. If you suppress your feelings they would say, what a fellow, always keeps on suppressing his feelings. On the other hand, when we become expressive, the say what a chap, can't even control his emotions.
So I feel we should be ourselves and should not care about what others feel.

Hi joddie,
I don't think crying will make you weak. Everyone has their own feeling and life is not a paradise to anyone so you may have unpleasant experience anytime. In science, they say that crying will help you ease the stress you get and make your feeling better and it is also good to your eyes, too. Also, you will not weak but are more human. So, don't worry about this. Cry if you feel that, do not control yourself.

crying is not a sign of a person's weak side but i see it a the strong side. for me, crying is one way of letting out of you emotions that you have been keeping out for a long time. When I cried, I feel the courage to stand up from the ground and move on the a brighter side of life! So don't be afraid to let your tears fall, you will never know what good it would bring after you cry!

crying is perfectly normal. if you DON'T cry or have NEVER cried, then that actually makes you "abnormal," simply because: it means you're insensitive or incapable of empathizing.
it's actually healthy to cry (sometimes, just sometimes). and crying is not a sign of weakness at all. women, even men cry. it's because we humans are capable of emotions. we all have FEELINGS. this is what actually sets us apart from animals.
so i guess it's okay to cry. as long as you don't cry too much.
p.s: you should smile more than cry more :)

Yes, your right that crying-out will lighten your feelings though the reason why you cried but dont think that you are seen as weak in the eyes of others. if you have heaviness in your heart about something then cry, i wont say not to cry. It will make you feel better. There are some people who think you are weak while you are crying but there are some people who thinks to cry along with you to make less you feel better. Just dont think that you are being weak in the eyes of others ok. Smile always :) and cry always. :p
