I think in the long run when you are doing it
for enjoyment and real sharing you end up earning more..
your discussions are more realistic and enjoyable to others.

I try to ignore them
but I think that sometimes pointing out
their error willl show other posters that
our discussions are sensical and not merely
point grabbers.
I use to try to earn big..but now I am
trying to create really interesting topics
so that people can benefit from having
taken part in them.

Hi littlefranciscan, I've notice some members are just really for the point of making money. I guess it just show how greedy they are and doesn't give any damn to what people might say to them because all they think of is to harvest some money here at MyLot.
What I personally do is to rate their comment with "negative (-)" to informed the Mylot administrator of the unlikely manner of that member.
nice post :D

Thanks! oldchem. This post should serve as a reminder to most Mylot members who's not doing it properly.

Hi, littlefranciscan. It makes me mad somewhat. If they feel that my discussion is a waste of time, then they should not bother leaving a comment to it. I don't appreciate anyone that does not care about the topic that I have started. They should not bother to respond to my discussions that they feel this way about.

I agree..those who really don't care for the topic
or can't add to it sensibly and with sound judgement
should stop hopping around trying to make money.

Woah!!! That happens here?!!! Some nerve that mylotter has! If you dont like the topic, why even bother putting your thoughts on it. but then... could it be that your topic is somewhat against his beliefs... What subject was that?

When folks join mylot they choose their "interests"
Why they jump into a discussion that they have no interest
or knowledge is beyond me..Sometimes people answer with 3 words
or 4 and think they are contributing to the discussion

hi litlefranciscan!
it is fine with me if they answer my discussion with some explanation why they feel that way.but if they just answer it with single line of 'i don't care only.'-then i will feel the same way like him/her.i don't care with your answer either!i will never rate his/her answer and just ignore them.
anyway if you ever come across the same problem again, i think you should write back to the responder with, 'if you feel that way,i wonder why would you even bother to answer my discussion?'.

Those are my thoughts exactly.
I hope that some of them see this
discussion and take advice. But
since they have the habit of
not reading the discussion and posting
quick replies this discussion may not even
do good even now.

Hi littlefranciscan..
I have seen such responses from other discussions and I don't even see the point why they would even bother to respond in something they think isn't making any sense to them.. If I was the discussion starter, well I guess I'd never feel bad because I think even if they don't care about my discussion, why would they give an effort to respond anyway?
If they just want to waste their time and effort typing that they doesn't care at all about the topic, then it's up to them. They may not see my topic interesting, but i'm sure others will.. So that's okay..

I hate putting a minus..but that's what I do.
I am thinking it would help people to decide whether
they can really add to the discussion started..
It's aggrevating when people pretend to know everything
and really know nothing about the topic started.

Well actually I do that too.. I rate them negative because I feel their response don't help with my discussion at all.. Don't feel sorry about it because you only rate them on what you think fits them..
For my opinion I think one shouldn't push to comment on something they don't even have any idea.. It would only make their responses seem non sense.. And it ends that it becomes really obvious.

I do not answer if I don't care about it and would expect others to do the same. I would say they are just trying to get more posts in, but that is also wrong.

I've never really experienced that, at times I have received comments from people who like to argue instead of debate and I try not to think about it as I'm much happier just posting on other peoples discussions. I like hearing what people have to say, if someone doesn't like my discussion I see no reason for them to respond but that's all.

I respect your point of view;
but i feel that people shouldn't comment
or take part in a discussion merely for points.
It's really quite childish.

I agree. COngrats on not attracting posters who
are merely point seekers and not wanting to
contribute something worthwhile to society:)

You know, if I don't care about the topic, I just don't even bother to read it. Its really as simple as that. I guess these people are just trying to boost their post count and get a few extra cents. I would rather not waste my time with posts that I do not care about and there are a fair few of them, because of the size of this forum.
Still, in the time that you say that you don't care about the topic, couldn't you be responding to a topic that you do care about? Just think about it. There should be something that you care about. If there is not, well maybe you're on the wrong website. Still, I don't know if anyone has said that to me on any of my topics but I think if they did, I would gently ask why they are wasting their time posting in the first place. Seriously though, in the time they posted they don't care, they could be responding to topics that they care about.

I think that there are some very misinformed members on MyLot who think that just by giving a short, sharp (and often rude) reponse will earn them money.
Well it won't do that and it will not help in making interesting discussions - all it does is make other members feel bad.

I agree. The sad thing is: when someone puts something
nonsensical into a discussion; sometimes everything below is
deleted..
I think that it's good manners to reply with
reasonable judgemenet and sense.

Yes they shouldn't even bother to post their none sense comment at all. They just want to at least make a cent out of their futile answer though. I just let it pass and not post a comment at all and skip their response.

Being the one who starts my discussions;
SOmetimes I do take the poster to task
and say ..that's not even what the topic
is about.. At least I can challenge them
to re-read the topic and then give a more
educated response.
