College is a wonderful phase of life, where we learn, interact and ofcourse fall in love. Dating is one of the major factors which makes college life what it actually is, enjoyable and fun. But it can be dangerous at times too. Do you have any tips on dating in college?
I'd suggest:
1. Having a close friend know who you are dating and when you're going out.
2. OK, I'm confused about this tip - Is online dating worth it? I'm against it 75-25!
3. Keep cell phone charged at all times and keep in touch with your date.
What else?

I guess the best advice I can give is to keep yourself out of danger. Don't go to unknown areas...don't participate in the wild party scene...don't allow yourself to be with someone alone that you don't know anything about...and keep control of yourself. It is a big world out there.

When you leave home to go to college, it is up to you know how to date safely. There is no parent or family member to lend their advice to you. Try to find friends with the same interests as you. Don't do anything or go anywhere that makes you feel uncomfortable. Going out with groups of friends is always a cautious way to date. Be alert of your surroundings and try to make good choices. College dating should be fun. it shouldn't be a trial.

Dating means knowing better. Just be your self and do not try to show someone who is not the real you. Relax and always be ready for an interesting conversation especially to break and avoid a long silence. Dress and act appropriately too, just never think of any lewd or s.e.x.u.a.l desire for you not to be mistakenly considered as "sick." Share everything you want to tell and ask her/him personal but not offensive and unreasonable questions.
Be ready also for any basic expenses, however it is not bad to say " that you don't have enough money" for this or that food, movie or place, just be honest anyway you are still s student without personal income. It is better to be loved by who you are than be loved by not who really you are. Better yet, go to the park or beside the sea shore because its free just bring some snacks. (hahaha)

safety dating is important not only during the college days.., I don't follow a list of safety precautions.., My only rule is to date someone.., whom I shared common friends with.., and I don't go out with him without telling my close friends where we are heading.., and lastly, I will not go to places with him.., with no other people there but us.., especially at night..=)

...i understand your point - safety...well i agree with you, we should take care always whereever we will go and we must not trust any stranger or someone that we just know for a day or two...with regards to dating, it's better to be safe as much as possible, so you are correct, we must keep our means of communication on and accessible all the time and of course it is good to let someone we know, know where we are just in case...

So you are actually offering tips here i thought at first you're the one needing the tips. Anyway I like your tip number three. If I may add I would say that you should be just yourself and avoid being pretentious.

In real life, just be yourself, if you don't get any girlfriend that way...well, it'n not the end of the world.
Dating online? Bad, bad idea....you should know it's a bad idea therefore some people use it...anyway, some dating online service can be free..so no harm..

I would say at anytime we go on a date with somebody we just met we are always taking chances. We really do no know who that person is until we are behind closed doors.
So my best advice is to go on a first date in public whereas you will not be alone if this person is psycho or something and can cause you harm and or accuse you of something you are completely innocent of. In fact the first few dates you should follow this rule.

Keeping your cell phone charged at all times was a good tip..
I remember when I started dating my boyfriend my friends hadn't met him yet. So I told them if I didn't answer their texts within an hour after they send them.. Then they can go into panic mode..
Always make sure SOMEONE knows where you are. That goes for if your dating someone or just hanging out with a friend.

zeethegr8 i have many of my friends who have married after meetin online, this doesn`t apply to the people who are of same nationalities but different also. You should be careful in all that.... many a time there is somuch of fraud happening online.
Coming to your college life, i remember my first year in college i was dating number of girls but married to one i really love. The king of feeling boy have is the same girls also have in their college life..... I think keeping the dating details to youself is the best as more people know there are chance of trouble :)

do not go on a date on a people that you don't really know or go on a date on places you are too far away and if possible try to have some companions maybe having a double date or something or like dating with someone while your friends are around in the same place like you and your date are on a restaurant while your friends are walking around and buying something, in today's world everything may happen and dating is dangerous especially for teens.
