I have used firefox on and on for years, now, I realize there's a bug in the program that slows it down from the other browsers. This computer flies on chrome. I like firefox because of all of it's add-ons, perhaps going back to 2.14 instead of 3 would be better. It's on all the minimal linux distros

One of the reasons i had used the 2 series firefox for long even after the 3 was launched. 3 series had a problem loading the pages because it was not able to show all the pictures and that was making it slow. But, now i am using 3.5 version and it is running satisfactorily and i am not sure if the 2 series is faster than the 3 now but i guess you could try it.

The problem here most probably is the browser's cache is now full or nearing it. Also, it depends on how many add-ons you actually have in use. Remember, each add-on can cause a really heavy impact on the browser. Try clearing the browsing history everytime you come out of Firefox.
And of course, the basic hygiene: Try clearing cache and cookies of your browser.

I wonder if you get the same message that I do that says a script is causing my computer to slow down and then asks me if I'd like to disable it. It drives me crazy every time. I also have problems with Chrome sometimes. Chrome asks me if I'd like to "kill" the page because it takes forever to load it. Could malware be responsible? Perhaps we should regularly run malware scans with software like Malware Bytes, Spy Doctor, etc.

Am well satisfied with the fire fox 3 which am using now. Before this i was a fan of internet Explorer, but its too slow for Mylot,so i tried Firefox, and found its good. So am started using it,only for Mylot but now i use only Mylot for browsing.
Good Day.
