the teacher who taught me music and gave a new direction in life
i was just another girl in a public school of around 5000 kids ... that teacher noticed me and gave me chance in singing and soon i was taking part in national level singing competitions . she changed my life and i can never thank her enough for what she has done for me

I had no favorite teacher because I believe in life who teaches me anything useful is my teacher and I am always ready to learn something new in life. As you said teacher and parents are most important persons in our life so I admire their work after me and I am very thankful of them.

When I was in 1st grade I really like my teacher. She showed great compassion to her students not just me. She was in her 50's that time. When I transferred in other school didn't have time to see her. I am very thankful to her. She gave me wisdom about life.

I wasn't that friendly with my teachers in elementary or high school. I was more focused on my friends then and trying to cope with my studies. But in college, I liked my teachers because they saw us as adults that they can talk candidly with. My school didn't prohibit them to mingle with their students. Romantic relations, of course, was prohibited. Anyway, my accounting teacher was very friendly to our class. He would join some outings of every group. That's why we became friends. Of all my past teachers, he is the only one I still have contact with. We're friends in facebook, too. Another reason why we liked him was that he would lower the passing grade when he finds out that most of the class got a low score in a test he gave. HAHAHA! Barely anyone flunked his class. LOL!

i've had a lot of teachers in my life and although i am not in the premises of school nowadays, i still have a lot of teachers around me teaching me in one way or the other...
and among all those i've met, well, apart from my parents, the one i really valued the most was my high school mentor. he taught me how to become a better person holistically and not just within the book... he imparted several significant things i wouldn't have learned from any other teachers. I look up to him very much that i even consider him as a part of my family...
he touched my life very much and i have idolized him greatly... even until now... ^_^

Like many other's response to this question, my mom is the best teacher. She was a high school teacher when I was a kid.
Your discussion also remind me of two of my graduate school teachers.
One of them said that teachers are not those who teach student everything they know, but teach students to how find out everything they don't know by themselves.
Another one said that teaching is learning, and learning from teaching.
These teachers and my mom teach me how to be a teacher, which I am one now.

I could clearly remember his face and the look of passion when he was on the platform. He often endeavored to make some strange countenances and exaggerated movements to attract our students' attention. He was my english teacher of senior high school,Mr.Jia.Although the courses were difficult and we usually couldn't have enough sleep,we never got boring and soporific. It's a funny thing in his lecture. It has been 5 years since i last met him.I miss him.

I'd say my mom is my best teacher since some of the things I never learned in school, I get answers from my mom.
