Curiosity is the desire or eagerness to know or learn.
I believe children are very curious, and its natural to them,,,
Could adults be as curious as them too?
Well, i am a curios person, i was even harmed with my curiosity. I remember this one time, at our electronics class, our teacher told us not to touch the soldering iron once plugged because it is too hot. I don't know what came into my mind but yea, i touched its tip, and *poof* i got burns on my finger,,, It caused by finger to have such a huge blister, well, my fault, and my teacher saw me, so he told me this "didn't i tell you not to touch it, look what happened, go to the clinic".

Curiosity is a great virtue as it means a strong desire to know or learn. Human civilization has achieved such a height only by this curiosity of man to know what is unknown to him. But obviously like any other thing, it should have some limit. Too much curiosity is not good and in some cases it may also have some bad effects as has happened to you. So first of all judge the case, try to gather information and then go ahead. Only this can make curiosity a valuable virtue to all.

i agree to both of you, we would never learn if we don't commit a mistake, so i think, that mistake i made, taught me to think twice before doing an act,,, ^^

true with everything you said, but lets not forget that curiosity would be the downfall of civilization
if we didn't learn from our mistakes. Curiosity gets us into a lot of trouble sometimes, but learning
from it is what's important and the key to mankind's survival and achievements.

I think when you stop being curious, that is when you stop thinkng. I remember this line by Albert Einstein = " The important thing is to never stop questioning."
So i think it is pretty normal to be curious.. you just have to be, we all have the hunger for information, and just keep the questions general, keep the curiosity in its place.. and do not stick your noses where they do not belong, then you should be fine.

I am a curious person also. I just can sit there or stare at it without learning how did it happen. My first step would be, asking questions, I'll probe and probe until I can get all the information that I need. After which, I'm beginning to touch things to get a feel of what it is like. Of course, I have to be cautious and ask permission, but if they are not looking I would explore the entire object. If according to my judgment, I would like the object, I will do my best to buy it, try it again and show it around. The same way when I am new in a place. My tendency is to roam around and scout the area until I can find something interesting. This is me, to satisfy my curiousity, I would to everything.

same here, but sometimes, i don't ask permission and i tend to ask questions after i tried it because i'm afraid i will not be allowed to do so,,, ^^

I'm still very curious. I read somewhere that we, adults, should never lose the "holy curiosity" of children. Yes, I have been harmed, too, because of my curiosity. However, I have stopped being foolhardy. I now make calculated risks. I always ask myself, "When things go wrong, would I be able to handle it? What would I do?" I still try new things. Giving into your curiosity can be good. It can sometimes lead to adventure. But like I said, before we decide to take risks, we should calculate them carefully.

Many people is curious about everything. what they see what they hear what they feel. I agree that children are very curious, it is natural for children to be curious because they didnt know a lot of things here in earth. Curiosity is really the desire to know and learn

Somehow touching something that you have been told is hot does not impress me as being curious. It sounds more like being hard-headed and perhaps not trusting your teacher to tell you the truth about the condition of the soldering iron.
Curiosity would mean being inquisitive about something that you knew nothing about. If you had not been warned about the heat and you had never experienced heat from fire that is another matter.
Had you taken the soldering iron and used it to see what you could solder together and accidentally burned yourself or set the lab on fire, then.....
Just a thought.
Yes I am curious. Sometimes I do not listen because I do not believe everything I am told. Yes, sometimes it gets me in trouble and I get burned - so to speak. In all cases, I learn valuable lessons.

i agree, i was a bit being hardheaded that time, but it seemed like my instructor was joking when he said that and i never thought it would directly heat up,,, ^^ but that incident taught me a lesson, and that's what is important,,, if that never happened, maybe i'd go overboard for being curious,,, ^^

curiosity was not a taboo, even though sometimes we will become victims of our own curiosity, but it's fair because then we will know and understand all things that attract our attention

i was always a curious child. Everything was of some interest to me. I think it's part of what makes my creative side get inspiration. I am still just as curious as an adult. It was just simpler things as a child that made me curious. now it takes a little more to get me there.

Curiousity is something that is built in humans instinctively. There is a distinct difference however with being curious and doing something that is not all that wise. I think when we are children, we are really naive and do not know any better. As we get older...well some of us still might know any better. Often times, our curiosity does not lead to much of anything, still there are sometimes yet where it could lead to some sticky and even dangerous situations.
It is fine to be curious. As long as we do not let our curious natures get the better of us. Then there will be many problems that we are going to have to deal with. Life is pretty complex and there are things that we wish to investigate. However, we got to pick and choose wisely. Otherwise, we are going to be in a sticky situation.

Haha,
I have taken miniature and microminiature repair courses in electronics and it is amazing what is "hidden" to the naked eye.
Perhaps travel sparks our curious instincts unlike no other endeavour since we can choose to see things and experience them as a child might?

I think humans tend to be curious of what they cannot get and have not tried of. Sometimes we like to try out those things that are forbidden just to serve our curiosity. However, curiosity is good in one sense that we learn more and easier when we try out with our own hands.... Anyway, be careful next time and do more research before trying out something new :D

I always have the disire and eagerness to know why human being's thought and concept are so differernt,'coz i often couldn't figure out why some people do things like that. I remember one of my college classmates who annoy me frequently just for small things. If i could help,he won't do it himself.Sometimes i do wanna know whatever is filled in his brain. Of course there are other things i'm curious about, such as the cosmos, interpersonal relationship and love. What a miraculous world.

I'm very curious! I think curiosity is important in life. It's important to ask questions and search for answers until the you reach the end of your question's trail. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule and people should be respectful of boundaries when asking personal questions.

Even I am a very curios person and I have suffered many bad things because of my curiosity but still I don't know why I can't stop being curios about each and every small or big thing.

but curiosity pays at times, its through curiosity that we come to learn new things, and we will never forget those since we experienced them for real,,, ^^
