Yes, still there is scope for engineering, however, it depends on a few things. Factors that affect your career after BE are "Your Luck", "University and the College" and "Your efforts".
If someone gets admission to an IIT college or NIT college, his/her future will be 50% secure at that time. Apart from that, it is necessary that you "just" pass all of your exams to make sure that you are out of college after 4 years. No body, really cares about the percentage that you have scored in BE, it should be only more than 60% and then comes your luck, if you want to know much about this luck factor ask someone who has already completed his/her BE.
Opportunities and scope will always be there for engineering, however, it depends how much eager someone is, in becoming an engineer.

there is always scope for an engineer....opportunities depends upon the profile of the individual and also his presentation skills plays a vital role. I love being an engineer.
