Luck has nothing to do with success, hardwork and smartwork does!

Its been such a misconception that luck has to do with success. Well if you would ask majority of the successful people will agree to the fact that hardwork, sincere dedication and a lot of strategy (smartwork) is what pays off for the success that they have achieved. And I don't believe in luck, its just that the harder we work, the better we prepare ourselves for the situation we are going to face the better will our luck be. So I don't give in too much into luck when it comes to achieving success. I'd rather trust myself! What do you think?

You are only equipped to take advantage of "luck" or "opportunity" if you have prepared for it in advance. It really is not luck, but is preparation for any unusual circumstance.

well i think that there are people that are too lucky bcs they are born rich so they dont have to make much effort for their living. they can just hang out without worries and all. i dont have that luck. im always worried bcs cant find a job that i can take and im trying my best to earn online but not much luck bcs my net is so slow :( i just wish i could had born more lucky bcs if i was rich i would help many people that sadly cant eat or even have a house. there are people with much money that just spend and spend and dont care about what others are suffering and im not like that. i wanted have a good life without worries sure but also help others :) anyway you are right we cant wait for luck and we must work hard for something^^

I too think in the similar line. There is really no substitute to sincere and hard work to succeed in any pursuit one chooses. But one must have clear cut vision in life so that he/she knows the direction in which he/she is proceeding. One can build one's own destiny by periodically reviewing one's own strategy and action plans and update those keeping in view of the changing environmental conditions. One needs to trust on one's own ability and prepare for shaping one's own future. Thanks.

i think both can lead to success. i know a lot of people that did not work hard and literally somehow just got high positions of power at a company not even knowing anything about that company and yet would get promoted again and again.. sometimes i think it depends on who you know.. of course there are people that are self made success by hard work.. so i think sometimes its luck and sometimes hard work.. but i know a lot of people that work hard to succeed and yet they fail and another person that did the exact same thing can go further but no difference between them

I differ in my thought. I would not deny that hardwork and smartwork both make up the bulk of success. But being there at the right place, at the right time doing the right thing takes a bit of luck. If success is 99% perspiration, the other 1% goes to luck. It may be a small part but it's that crucial part that makes the whole complete.

hi , i agree with you hardwork and smartwork are needed to attain success but on the other hand i believe that the first thing to attain success is because of luck. Say you had a high paying job. Yes, you go to the top position because of your hardwork and smartwork but if you had not been accepted to that position or to that company even if you had the 2 qualities it gets you nowhere to success so you have to be lucky first to be accepted in the job , the so on and so forthe.. In short to be lucky means that God willed it to happen , because without God we are nothing , even if we have all the hardwork and the smartwork you mentioned.

I think luck has very little to do with success. There are people who are doing very well in what they do not because they were simply lucky. Yes, luck could be one of the factors of the success they are enjoying but it was coupled with hardwork, dedication, and faith. There are also the lucky ones as we call them like people who won in the lottery but it doesn't mean that they are successful. They can even lose everything in a little time because they don't even know what to do with it. In anything that we want in this world we shouldn't just wait for it to come out of nowhere, but we have to work for it and put our heart into it and have faith that we can achieve it.

Well you certainly is right. What makes a person successful is surely his will and determination to succeed. This involves hard work and determination. Though some people have the advantage of having friends, contacts that help them along the way, but for as long as you have what it takes and you do your work, then there is always the chance of success.

The truest path of our success never comes from how lucky we think we are. It comes from the effort and heart we put into our hopes and dreams and goals for our lives. When we want to achievee the greatest success in our lives, we can not assume that luck would ever have anything to do with achieving it.

I would like to think of it that way too. But, I had known people who are smart and hardworking but still didn't get what they want. I guess, it's not luck that we need. We need the opportunity or that break plus our skills in order to succeed.

I would also go along with those words that you have mentioned here in your discussion. When we really work for the things that we want to get, there is that sense of satisfaction that we get to feel. For things that we get because of some favorable situation, say you won in a contest of you just happen to be given a nice gift because your associated with a very good person, the things that we get from that, yes we are still grateful but, that feeling of satisfaction is not the same. We must all work hard to get what we want in our lives.

in my opinion, sucess is when preparation meets opportunity. www.waazula.com is the combination of persistent efforts and great customer demands in this globalized area.

You are totally right there. I mean I don't think we must rely in any superstitious beliefs as well especially when it comes to the things. I do believe in praying to ask help from God in order for us to be guided when we are working. Other than that we should be humble enough to make sure that we don't discriminate and cheat other people in order for us to become successful. The person must be the one who is willing to handle the pressure in the sense of being patient and strong or has strong willed that he/she will never give up. As we say that try and try until you succeed.

Hardwork and smarkwork are vital in any business. Good and sound business plan , good product price promotion and place for business are all vital in starting a business.Hence good and smart planning with calculated risks are important. However little luck is important also. For luck i guess your need to pray to higher force since luck cannot be controlled.

I think you are right, but in order to achieve really, really great things, a combination of both might be necessary. But for the average Joe? HArd work will do the trick indeed!
