format flash drive with note pad

how can o format a flash drive with note pad . i know how to format a hdd but i am wondering how to format a flash drive

I don't know if that is possible. But even if it is, why would you want to use notepad to format it? You can just go to the computer management, then disk management and then choose the usb drive and format it (vista/win 7).
