I don't understand why a lot of people especially women shop and shop now, here, and there just to be satisfied on their wants well in fact the things they shop is not really needed. Sometimes, they shop the things which they do already have. Can't they just shop the things they really need or a want that they still don't have it? The men, on the other hand, loves to shop but they know what to buy because the prioritize their needs. When they have an extra budget for the wants, then that's the only time they buy extra personal stuffs. I'm just wondering why women are more spenders than men do.

I'm a female and I don't shop at all anymore. I believe in recycling and reusing so I haven't bought a new clothing for a long time. I think women tend to shop more because society makes them want to look like people in the movies/magazines. My ex was more of a spender than I was and I think it was a psychological issue. People tend to think that material things will cure all their problems.

Manyh women use shopping as an anti-depressant. My Mother went shopping a lot when she was dying of cancer to take her mind off things and to exercise. Trust me, she got lots of exercise. At half her age, I had to sit down at the Mall while she continuted on.
Most men hate shopping. It's not a matter or prioritizing, it's that they only shop for one or two things at a time. Unless I make a list, my husband won't buy the stuff we run out of for food. Even then, he complains if there is more than 2 items. He absolutely hates shopping whereas most women enjoy it and some women get no other exercise or even freedom.

In ancient times, women gathered food. Men hunted.
Gathering requires lots of walking and finding different things. Hunting often requires finding an animals trail, sitting and waiting, just for one or two kinds of animals.

Some people do 'shopping' therapy. It's just like you might gorge on chocolate when you feel sad or upset, they shop. It is one reason you end up with hoarders because to make themselves feel better they go out every day and buy, buy, buy, with no real aim to purchase needed items.
I found myself starting to do that when I had an ebay site and rapidly called the whole process to a halt.
It can literally be an illness and if people get too carried away, they need professional help.
As for women enjoying it more, it comes back to caveman days. Women gathered things for the home; men hunted for meat. Women still gather, but now it's at stores, lots and lots of stores and often find things they had not considered when they started out on the shopping trip. Men go with a specific target to hunt, walk in, find it, buy it and get out. We never get THAT far from our roots.

Funny how I'm a girl and I just hate shopping. Only time I love to shop is when I'm going to shop for electronics only. Also when I shop, I know what I'm buying. I just don't go look around the store and see something I like and just buy it. I plan on what to buy. Though I really don't know how can other women can shop so much. Especially my aunt and grandmother. Every time I spend time with them, we always have to go shopping. My aunt haves so much purses and she keeps on buying purses. It's ridicules. I wouldn't spend $200 for just a purse. I rather save that money for something else that I need or buy electronics instead. I really don't know why women are more spenders. I have seen some men also spend lots of money on shopping like women do without planning, but it's rare to see them.

Shopping isn't always a necessity for some people. for some, it is a passion in their lives. for others shopping is an addiction that they just can't kick. Shopping isn't always about needing or wanting something. Sometimes it's just about the experience.

This is a significative topic for us to discuss with all the friends. To be fact,as a girl,a ordinary person who like shopping a lot of thing what is need or not need is a common phenomenon according to my perspective around of my female friends.and me too.
So i don't think i can respond to your question why so many girls like shopping when its not needed.we just buy what we like for ourselves, relationship, friends.
I only can say as that we are born to shopping.on the other hand,Don't think of that If someday we don't like shopping crazy, the whole economic standard would be declined. That's right?

Shopping is favorite of many people. I go shop to relax, not to buy any things. Sometimes when i feel stress, I also go shopping. I mix with the crow and feel better. You can try it.

some women take shopping as a therapy. it is said to be their coping mechanism. But it is an expensive coping mechanism!! Most hoarders have the problem. They keep on buying things they do not need just to satisfy themselves.
Men are lazy human beings.hehe just kidding. well, they have another way on coping. They drink, smoke, play video games... etc. But men also spend their money big time on things like - prefering to take a taxi because of their laziness. You know what I mean?

I think, shopping is made for women. Hehe.Just kidding, anyway, i grew up in the family that has limited resources. And shopping is only made when it is needed. So I am not one of them. Until now that i have my own job, shopping was never a hobby for me. But I regular shop every month. If you are wondering why women spend than men, maybe its because it a woman nature. Or because women are more fashionable than men.

Shopping is fun. However you need to know when enough is enough. Especially when you don't have the money to just go and buy whatever you want. Its about what you can afford. I can't understand these women who go shopping and buy bags for hundreds of pounds, when they are already in thousands of pounds of debt. Yes I like to shop...but when I have the money.
