Is there any way to let my Laptop act as a PC keyboard for my desktop?

Is there any program or something that let my laptop act as a PC keyboard for another computer?
I've got my desktop streaming to my TV. I now need a program that lets the laptop act as a keyboard for the desktop. Can anyone help me? A big plus would be if the laptops touchpad could replace the desktop mouse.

i think its possible but i dont know how. have you tried to plugging it in?

into what? I am on a wireless network, I don't think I have to plug it into my desktop.. It's only the keyboard I want, and possibly the touchpad. I don't want the screen because my laptops graphic card is too old for doing the stuff I was going to do.. (mainly video editing)

well my laptop has a video port and i have plugget my old monitor so i can use it for the monitor instead of the laptop one.
i really dont have any expertise on these kinds of problems.

this is possible one of my friend is using its laptop keyboard and desktop screen....
