Why it takes a long time to connect some sites?

Hello , After a long time i have decided to start a discussion, this time also not with purpose, but to find solutions for the problems i face while logging on to websites. Hope that as usual my problem gets answered here :) Some times when i try to log on to sites like FOREXFACTORY.COM,and many other like this..i see in the bottom corner of my pc.."[B]WAITING FOR S7.addthis.com[/B] and my pc tries to connect for ever, never connects it. I use firefox version 3.6, and i have norton internet security pack. So no problems for virus attacking my pc. My Java is also updated. I tried to find solution by google searching.. 'Waiting for s7.addthis.com" . I could see a lot of persons describing the same complaint like me, but no solutions i could gather from google search.:( Any one here facing same problem like me. Sometimes it's due to some problem in the website you are accessing.Maybe the website is too busy and also your computer is infected with a virus.You should check you computer every weeks.

I did some research on this issue a few hours ago and came to the conclusion that the problem did affect many Internet surfers, but it was not permanent. One person said the problem has gone, at least for him. 1) A delay like this may be due to unexpected traffic surge making the host unable to handle it, thus causing a connection failure. 2) One person found his browser blocking the url. Taking this further you may need to check your firewall settings. 3) There could be a problem with the actual physical connection to the server which had nothing to do with the traffic volume. Whatever the actual reason(s) may be I wish you the best i resolving it.

Thanks a ton Rosdimy for giving valuable inputs. Actually with the earlier versions of firefox, i have not faced this problems. Well as you said, their is always a lots of traffic to the site that i have mentioned here. What i have decided is to uninstall the recent version of firefox and get back to the oldie. Firewall settings i never altered. May be this version of Firefox is blocking the url :( Tons and tons of confusion remains as i keep on thinking in this connection. Some one said, it use ADDBLOCK PLUS add-on.. which i did, but no use.. so uninstalled it.. Anyway thanks a lot for showing interest dear. Take care Saivenkat

I think your problem is due to your computer have infected with some kind of worm or trojan (virus) that will keeping bringing you to some of the site. And when many people keep visiting the site, that site got jammed and that is why you cannot get connected to that site...you will need to find some antivirus to scan your computer. Sometime Norton itself not necessary can detect some viruses, you need to try to use others to be able to detect some malware or viruses.

Thanks for responding, but i run norton Internet security professional pack, which is efficient in handling, malware, spyware, and virus etc. what i have a feel is that it may be due to some other reasons unknown, not oriented with virus. Thanks again for stopping by. Take care, Saivenkat:)
