Former Heavyweight champion Frank Mir will go against the Croatian sensation Mirko Cro Cop this coming September 26th. Both of them has standing power and ground control, but in terms of age, Cro Cop is older than Mir and would gave Mir an advantage. I would say this match would be Mir as he has stronger stand-up game and excellent ground and pound power. I will not say it's a KO because Cro Cop is not that easy to send him to the ground, probably a unanimous decision in favor of Mir.

I think Cro Cop sees this as his last run at a title - if he puts in the kind of performance he did against dos Santos, then I can see Dana White cutting him from the roster. His performances against the likes of Antony Perosh and Pat Barry were OK, but realistically, those were fights where he had everything to lose and not much to gain.
If Cro Cop beats Mir (and I hope he does) then it puts him in the mix, but a loss...I think he might get one more chance to redeem himself if he fights well, but a KO loss or exceptionally poor performance will be the end for him (if he doesn't personally choose to retire anyway).
