IT is for me. And when I am bored at clicking at PTC sites and surfing in traffic sites, I remind miself that the online money is for vacations.
I try not to get bored because I keep in mind that these earnings are my only vacations money. I´m planning a trip in March now. I don´t know if it will be Aruba or its sister islands or Dominican Republic. Still later, a friend of mine is inviting me to Europe. There we have where to stay and would only need money for the airfares.
This year I had two weeks in my country but very far from where I live (in the capital which is in the middle of my long country). The last one was at Arica, a frontier city near Perú. Arica is at sea level but a few hours from there you can be taken to the altiplano at 4,800 meters of altitude. Both places are awesome and I was happy to be able to go there.
Do you save money to travel? What is your main source of saving for vacations? Share!

I really envy you Margy. To be able to earn enough to travel??? Wow. I'm lucky if I can earn $10 in 2 months, it usually takes me 3 months. It would take me years to save up for a trip anywhere. Add to that and I have a bunch of animals with no-one prepared to look after them for any length of time. There are so many trips I want to do within my own country but it's so expensive. I find the prices atrocious. I have to live very frugally and I'm alarmed at the price of things when I have a chance to catch up.

I always comment on the responses I receive and I post the occasional photo. The search box works better these days but I don't earn anything from it. I spend more tiome reading discussions I can't think of a response to or someone has already responded in the manner that I was going to. I earn less than 2 cents a post. I've made a huge effort this month and I should make payout in 2 months , not 3.

Hi there my dear friend. Traveling is my top hobby and I have visited more than fifty different countries. This summer I took my two young children on a flight from London to Vancouver. We enjoyed visiting that beautiful city and also popped over to picturesque Vancouver Island. We had a few nights visiting a friend in Vancouver and got a ferry over to see our relatives that live on a small island. It was amazing to see their home which my relative built himself. The island doesn't have a supermarket on it. Shopping just wasn't possible whilst we were there. We did lots of walking around the countryside and to the beaches. Last year I took my toddler son on a flight from London to South Africa. We explored Cape Town and the Garden Route. It was lovely to see beautiful Cape Town and later on during our trip we went on a two and a half hour safari. Yes, I save money to go off traveling. I don't have any inspiration for ideas of where to visit in 2011. I will have to keep thinking.

It is getting more challenging to travel with Leo because he is so heavy and yet he will never be able to walk. He needs catheter care and for a trip of three weeks we need to take four boxes of those. Mobility wise it is easier when our accommodation is on the ground level and it is difficult it is up a flight of stairs. If so I park the buggy at the bottom of the steps then I carry Leo upstairs to our room. I put him somewhere safe whilst I go down to get Amber. Then I put her somewhere safe. Next I go down the stairs and get the buggy. That is 12kg and it is not easy to carry. Getting on and off the plane is a nightmare. The airline have to have the buggy on the plane. I carry Leo on to the plane and an airline member of staff has to carry Amber on to the plane. It is difficult to be able to go to the washroom on the plane. There changing a nappy area is tiny and Leo needs catheter care every three hours. The airline let me do his catheter at the back of the plane where the staff have their rest. I get my money from primary school teaching. I like to do contract work and be able to travel in term time when airfares are cheaper. I paid an adult fare for me, a child fare for Leo and an infant fare for Amber for the flight from London to Vancouver return. I pay for the flight then I save money up for the next six months for the traveling expenses like accommodation. Travel is my top hobby and I always can afford to do it. I go without other things or do it as cheaply as possible. After my trip to New Zealand I came home very poor. So my next trip was a cheap flight to Italy, a bus overnight to Croatia then camping in my tent. When Amber reaches age 2 airfares will be more expensive. I will still carry on traveling. Hug.

You are wonderful, Maxine!!! I´m sure airlines will help you with Leo. There might be some things you haven´t asked them to do. I understand what a flight of stairs can be: I went for vacations several times with a handicapped friend. She could walk, but with walking sticks (Is that the word in English?). Once we went to a place where it rained a lot and we could not have her slip. When that happened, I made lunch and dinner at our bedroom and played cards while looking at the view through the great windows of the hotel main room.
I hope your traveling dreams continue to be a reality. This year I thought I would not be able to set a foot out of my house yet I went to Pucón for a week and then to Arica for another.

I always wonder how can you travel alone with now two chidren, specially since Leon has his special needs. How do you manage to save so much money? I do want to go to Canada but it is too far away and I haven´t been able to raise the money.
Hugs!

California? :D
Saving for vacations usually comes from stock purchases. It goes up, we sell, we use the profit for vacations and other things. It goes down, we wait...

It is a good way to Save money for traveling. Online work really helps, even if sometimes you have to add a bit more from another place.

Travel is my only passion in life. :D I will try anything and make way if given the chance to travel. Unfortunately, it is hard to earn good money here. That is why for now I am limited only traveling within our region. But given the chance to work abroad for better pay, I will take it just for me to have more chance to travel. What I do is really plan ahead and look for the best deals in the net to have my vacation. Also, I try to pay bit by bit for some expenses for my travel. Let us say I am traveling this April. I will book for a plane ticket this month, pay the hotel bills next month and book for a tour in March so that I will have a little to worry about when April comes.

I hope you have your dreams come true, my friend. Hard work and being constant helps. I save all my online earnings for vacations and live frugally the year around.
I also pay for my vacations bit by bit. My online earnings are taking me to Aruba next March and I already paid for the tickets.

actually no, it is not first on my list, althought IT IS on my list, but there are other things that i have to take into consideration first, beside travelling uses a lot of money, for sure we have to spend on most important ones first

True. Each person has his own priorities. When my children were little, even though we had a lot more money because my husband was alive, we never had much money to spare. The kids´education, clothing and all that meant a lot of money. That was our prioroty than.

Out of question, travelling is the interest of most people, including me. Of course, money is very important and at the same time is a big problem for people who lead a life depending on the salary. There is no entral money to spend. Saving money is also very difficult for people, especially for young people. I just only reduce the frequency of shopping, having parties with friends and other activities.
By far, there is no money to save and I don't travel for many places. So pity.

It is difficult to travel if you don´t have some spare money. I did not travel as much when I was young as I´m doing now that my children are grown yp and living by themselves.

Yes, it is for me too. I absolutely love travelling and make it a priority. I have a separate savings account for travelling, so that is the main way I pay for any trips. I also use my online earnings to help pay them. It works great for me!

It is a good way to have a separate account for traveling. That way it takes moke thinking to use it for something else. Happy posting and thanks for answering!

I do love traveling. Specially when I'm with my friends or family. I save my vacation to hike mountains and volcanoes or we visit caves and local tribes in our country and spent a nice vacation eating their local cuisine.

I have never been to India and I suppose I will never go as it is too far away. But since I have been here at mylot and have met online indian friends, I have developped an appetite for traveling to your country. I guess I will have to settle with show on TV. I´m glad they make good ones now and you can learn a lot from them

Travelling doesn´t mean that you will not go back to your place of birth sometime. Now that I´m old I only travel for a couple of weeks each time. But when I was young I considered going to work to another country for a couple of years. Many people I know did it and they were happy with their choice.

Japan is too far away from where I live so it will never be in my list of posible destinations. Butbesides doing real travels to where I can go, I also like to see places in TV in those channels where they show the beauties of each country.

Hi Marguicha,
How are you?
IT is not for ME,even though i wish to.
I wish to go for a world tour,a dream of mine.I don't know whether God may permit me.
And Have you ever visited India?

I think that if we wish and work with all our might we can do many things within certain limits. I never thought I would be able to travel yet I am doing it fairly often. True I don´t go to fancy restaurants all the time but I have learnt to bend that too and know how to prepare gourmet cooking.
I have never visited India. It is very far away from my country and would probably feel lost if I went there. But since I have been here at mylot I have developed a wish to see India with my own eyes and not only in TV shows.

Well, I would like to do some travelling but as always, money is the issue! I have not travelled anywhere in such a long time that I almost forget what it was like when I did experience travel in the past! I guess the most feasible way for me to travel at the present time is to perhaps take a very long train journey and enjoy the scenery, taking in the countryside as it were! Train tickets are a whole lot cheaper these days especially when you book well in advance!
It sounds like you have a good plan in terms of saving your online earnings so that you can travel! I think it's virtually impossible for me to do this as I just don't earn enough online and my only source of income online is from My Lot! You have mentioned something that is really interesting though and that is, you are staying with a friend so you only need to pay for the air fares! I think that this is a good technique and it definitely pays to find good friends all over the world and once you have known them long enough and an element of trust has been built then you can offer each other a place to stay whenever you travel to their country. Not everyone is keen on this idea but I think that it's well worth checking out as a possible hoiday option.
Anyway, I have no idea when I will be doing some travelling again. I actually need to renew my passport as that has expired now! Andrew

Whoa! it is great to hear that you are going on a trip from money you earned from the internet. Travelling is not for me becuase I have height problem and flying is something I least want to do. Just lazing in my office and surf internet is really something I am addicted to do now. Money earned if any from internet will be spent on nothing but food.

In our country, traveling is luxurious that's I opted to travel through the pages of the books and through surfing the net or browsing through my friends' travel albums in social networking sites. It's for free and no hassle of packing up one's luggage. Kidding aside, although there are lot of things to learn when one travels but it's just not my priority. I don't enjoy traveling. I have other things in mind that bring me joy and excitement. :)

I really, really love to travel. For me, this is one way of recharging myself to dream and learn new things. It relieves my stress. Everytime I travel regardless of how far I travel, it feels like I,m flying.
