That is very strange! No, I can't say I did anything strange like that. I did start smoking when I was 7, that wasn't very smart either. Didn't do much for my health. I guess smoking was the most stupid thing I ever did as a child. Come to think of ot, that was very stupid. Glad I stopped when I was about 20 years old when I started to study the Bible and realized that God wasn't pleased with me smoking. It wasn't easy but I did win the battle. It is now about 40 years later and would never do that stupid thing again.

Oh No! That is really weird! Your mother must have been worried sick about you doing something as weird as that! Were you crazy?
I never did anything as stupid as that. I had a habit of picking at the dried skin around my finger nails with a pin or needle until they bled a lot of the time though!

Wow, there are a lot of really weird things that I remember doing as a child, but I don't think that I ever took the opportunity to bite on a glass glass. I do remember, however, when I was really bored at home I would get a needle and thread and I would "sew" the bottom of my foot because of the fact that the skin there was so tough. Another thing that I did that caused me a lot of scars is that I would pick my scabs time and time again.

I do not think I could have and can do this it sounds a bit painful and dangerous. Glad you have overcome this and no longer do this.

Weird but I think we all have our own strange behaviors when we were growing up. Mine..I couldn't leave my mom's skirt and followed her everywhere she went. There was no compromise if I was not allowed to tag along and I will create havoc by tearing any books that I can get hold of if I am prevented from tagging along with her. I was quite a rebellious monster when I was a kid.

its very strange to hear that...anyway i also avoid to give milk or anything to my children in glasses with the fear of breaking it....
about me....i used to put the kittens which were 3-4 at the back side of our house...in a cloth bag and whirl them with great speed ...the poor animals used to sit feared and didn't move....and i enjoyed my game

That's an odd thing to do, and I'm wondering what type of glasses you have at home. Do you have those glasses which are thin and fragile? I'd be horrified if I had seen you bite through those thick glasses households usually have!
I'd rather do your stunt with ice instead of glass though.
I couldn't recall anything stupid, but I'm sure we had a lot. I think I would get back to you there if I could recall some.

hi doormouse oh my that really was dangerous as if you had
swallowed some it would have cut you iniside. the only odd
'thing I did as a kid was to nibble on library paste but some
others down in the grades did that too. I am sure it was not
edible or good for us either. i am glad I got over the
habit soon.

I think that there are lots of children when they are younger, that tend to bite on things.Children are known for putting things in their mouth, aswell as biting on them.My friends daughter put money in their mouth and use to chew it,yuk.Another person use to put stones in their mouth out of the garden and chew on them.

Oh,i never tried it and i can't imagine how it hurts when your lips got cut.
But i knew someone who really eat a broken glass, digesting and swallowing it (ouch)
I don't enjoy watching that person doing such acts.
Do you still do that? biting glasses?

Hi! doormouse, chewing broken glasses is so dangerous, this could injure your intestines. i don't remember myself doing things harmful to myself when i was a child but my brother did. He inserted matchsticks inside his nostrils (one each)until his nose bleeds but he does not tell our mom. When he could not remove the sticks already he just let it inside and so his nose becomes infected with pus coming out with an awful smell. Only then my mother could notice that something is inside his nose and she will bring my brother to the doctor to have the stick pulled out. He did it twice, i think he love the smell of the sulfur at the tip of the matchsticks.

I remember some weird behaviors when I was young, but I don't think it was as strange as biting glass. For some reason, I remember wanting to touch everything with the nails on my thumb. So for every thing that I encounter, I would rub both my thumbs on it. And it always had to be both thumbs. I felt 'unbalanced' if I only rubbed one hand.

I think lots of kids do this when they're young... because teeth are growing and all that. But I get what you're saying, about biting something until it breaks. :) I think I still have that "oral fixation" from when I was younger. I still chew on the tips of my pens, glasses, etc.
