Mariachi Tomatoes - Best tomatoes in the WHOLE world!!

My brother used to work for a farmer a while back and I got used to eat great tasting tomatoes. I cant find them anywhere near where I live. They're Mariachi Tomatoes. If you've never tasted them, you have NO idea what you're missing. So since I took a week off work, I decided that Id drive to that farmer to get me some, then I can save the seeds and grow them next year. We had a very hot and humid week last week and I didnt want to be stuck in that heat, so we decided to go early in the morning. Problem is we go to bed around 6am and get up around 1pm. So we went without sleep so we could leave around 7am to be there at 8:30am. It was a nice drive, not too much traffic and I could buy a whole case of tomatoes. We stopped by my dad on our way back, left some for him and then came home. First thing I did was make myself a nice toasted tomato sandwich before sleeping for a few hours.....it was 1PM by then lol. Would you drive that far to get something you really crave??

I might drive that far to get someone I was craving, but I am not sure. I love tomatoes, and if they were that delicious I would drive there atleast once per year to get a case, and well like you said you're going to start growing them... Sounds delicious!

I just might drive that far for good tomatoes. Or see what was in a local farmer's market. You had such rave reviews, I had to look up your Mariachi tomatoes. It says here that they are supposed to be good for a hot climate. That makes me think that they are a type I would want to grow next year. Most of what we grow here quits setting fruit at 90 degrees, then starts up again towards fall. It looks like the seed company that sells them is in the Netherlands. I will have to do some research I guess.

I found the seeds to be from Russia at my end Haha!! Well I was told by the farmer that I could grow them from seeds from the tomatoes and that would work. So guess what I'll be doing with my seeds!!! Oh GG if only you could taste them, you wouldnt want to eat any other type of tomatoes after. Everything else is so plain and tastes like nothing or cardboard. If you cant find the seeds or order them as its quite a way to get seeds, let me know, I'll gladly send you some. But first I'll have to make sure they're wrapped right so they dont freeze or get humidity. Im eating tomato salads and tomato sandwiches......Ive been living on tomatoes ever since haha!! The farmer grows them in his greenhouses, so he can control the temperature......i hope I can grow them outdoors or I'll have to buy a tiny greenhouse for my tomatoes lol. Thanks GG

My sister spent a whole weekend picking up fruit and veggies. Then she came home and made salsa, spagetti sauce, and canned peaches and pears. Oh boy, did her house smell good!!

Oh trust me they are worth it!!!! I didnt know about those tomatoes until my brother worked for that guy at his greenhouses.....but since my brother isnt working there anymore, thats why I had to drive all the way there to get them, but oh I have no regrets haha. Maybe I'll have to have my own webpage so I can sell the seeds to those delicious tomatoes. Everybody should try them at least once.......but Im sorry to say, then you wont want to go back to other tomatoes!! Thanks!!

Im not sure about my seeds. I was told to rinse them in cold water, then put them on a paper towel but they're all stuck to the paper....So I'll have to try something else.

I think thats a good idea because its really hard to find a great seed this day. If it taste like you said its really worthed to be plant and I think home gardener will be able to safe more space for you tomato. Or you can become seed supplier to existing seed company that already online.

My husband and I love to go for long car rides, so yes, I would do something like that. We actually drive about 1 1/2 hours to the closest Jack-In-The-Box - a fast food restaurant. My husband is originally from California, and I am originally from Chicago. The closest "Jack" to us is over an hour away. We love to take a drive on the weekend and eat there. The people that work there always think we are crazy to come that far for hamburgers and tacos, but I guess we just love reliving our youth.

I know people in my area who drive an hour all the time to get donuts at this one place. I'd probably do the same though if I had the time and money ;)
