I was wondering what others consider to be the best pets. I personally am fond of reptiles. In particular Bearded Dragons. I have four of them in various sizes and ages. I think they are good pets for several reasons. They are easy to care for and require little. All you need is a good size aquarium, 30 gallon or bigger and UVA and UVB lights. They rarely bite if handled often and well, they do not shed hair all over the house or poo on the floor. You have to poop scoop the cage, but that's it. Change the bedding about once a month a well. They eat cheap too. You can feed them veggies and fruit, crickets, meal worms and pellets. I always give mine the scraps when I fix salads. They love it. My toddler loves them. I even have leases for them so they can go outside and get some natural sunlight. They are great pets and very playful. They love to chase bright shiny things. I look forward to hearing about your pets.

I also have something in the aquarium. Bit they are not bearded dragons. They are fishes. Guppies, platies, fighting fish, pleoco, angelfish and tetra. They are all in a community tank, living harmoniously with each other.
Very little of time and effort is needed to spend maintaining the tank. I only top up the water in the aquarium and change the water in it once a year. The pleoco will keep the aquarium wall free from algae, so there's no need for me to scrap the wall. I must say that the pleoco did a nice job.
Feeding is once a day. Pellets and bread are the typical food for my pet. They eat as much as they can. And also there are green plants in the tank in order to create a balance ecological system; to clear off the nitrate produced from the fishes.

I am not surprised to discover that many people find fish rearing a difficult task. Actually, it is very easy and only required a minimum amount of effort. Most people usually overstuff the aquarium with fish and over feed. When these things happen, the fishes in it will have a hard lives and die easily.
For a guide, a two feet by one feet tank should only be stuffed with a few small tropical fish (5 to 6). Better still, if you can add in a air filter to it. Never put aggressive fish such as Oscar, Kalui, Arowana, Apollo with other fishes. They will fight and eat the smaller fishes. They are not meant for a community tank.
If you must rear them, only put one of them. If you want to have a number of them, get a bigger tank. Maybe one with 4 x 2 feet.
Happy fish rearing!

I have been considering getting my daughter some fish. I was reluctant to get any because I thought they required a lot of care as far as the tank cleaning, temps, etc. Thank you for the information on the fish. I will have to reconsider my decision on getting the fish. Thanks for posting.

To my opinion, dogs are my favorite pets.Firstly, they are always loyal to us.They can scared away the thieves by barking.Secondly, they can be our close partener in life especially when you feel lonely.Last but not the least, dogs that are trained well offer great help to us such as seeing eye dog.

Dogs do make loyal companions and do provide a certain amount of protection. I had a German Shepard when I was young that saved me from being pulled into a car. I am a dog lover myself, but I just do not have the time or space. Thanks for posting.
