I took three chemistry classes when I was in college and I was thankful that I was able to memorize the 100 plus elements in my periodic table copy. In fact I remembered a lot of their atomic weights too especially those that are commonly used by my teachers before, I always find that fulfillment whenever I know that I am confident that during the test I will make it perfect. In fact I do the memorizing when I was in our shower room while taking a bath. Instead of singing I do the memorization of stuffs at school. How about you?

Well, I did not memorize it. I can always draw one and name the elements in order but never have I tried memorizing it. I dunno how I got a grasp of it too..........

i had that strategy before. i used to memorize the elements by group and by period. it was easy that way since i learned to memorize where it was located in the table.i also find techniques stated in one of the sites.it went like this: To memorize the periodic table we’ll use a technique known as acrostic mnemonics. In short you’ll create rhymes whose first letters are associated with the chemical elements latin names combined with a repetition technique used by many actors to memorize their lines.
First of all…You don’t need to memorize the whole periodic table with it’s 117 elements. Some of the elements are synthetic elements that have been produced artificially in particle accelerators, they’re short-lived and you’ll most likely never have to deal with them in a lab, an assignment or the like. Therefore…forget about the elements with an atomic number ranging from 104-118. This leaves us with 102 elements.
You don’t come across the lanthanides and the actinides that often either so, for now, forget about them too. We’re now down to 72 elements.

Heck, NO!
Way back, we were allowed to bring and open our periodic table. Some of them tend to get stored in our memory and it's almost automatic that you know their corresponding details like atomic weights and stuff.

i don't have a choice before since we were asked to memorize the symbols of the elements.after that we were allowed to open it when the lessons were about boiling and melting points since no one can seem to memorize that even if there are extra points. it was not the only concern of the students. there are still lots of stuffs to attend to.

That is wonderful ! Excellent memory. I have seen the perodic table of elements, and had learnt about those too at one stage. But, I cannot remember them all, just a few elements. You are certainly a very gifted person with excellent capabilities to memorize !

Yes, I did memorized it also during my chemistry classes. In the beginning it's hard but at the same time it's fun also.Have to do lot's of memorization and study hard during college days so that,I will not be removed from dean's list and as being a scholar.

Well that was quite difficult for me back when i was in school and i seem to have gotten that out of my head long ago already. I can never memorize anything correctly or perfectly. I seem to have a knack of doing maths so well that i hate chemistry so much. I only remember this Hy he li be bo ca ne o fl ne. That's all. Those are the names of the first 10 or more elements that's all i know.
Cheers!

I really have a short term memory. I could not really remember what I had memorized after 2 days. It is such a shame, but it is really true. When I am memorizing, I face in front in the mirror and talk it aloud so that I could hear what I was talking and in return I could comprehend it and somehow memorized it. I am a fond of chemistry. I've got 2 chemistry subjects in high school and 2 in college, but unfortunately I forgot the periodic table of elements.
Have a good day! ;)

Before, when I was still studying and had to remember all those elements in that periodic table, I think I did very well on it but now, I can only recall a few and not much about their atomic weights.
Anyway, it is indeed really nice to know that you have memorized something essential for the exam and that feeling makes you confident that you can have a high score through the test.
Whenever I try to memorize something for an exam or a test or even a recitation, I would be doing it while walking around, perhaps inside the house or even walking outside. I guess that's just my way of doing my memorizations. (^_^")
