I just passed my last driver's license test in the morning .if all goes well ,i will get my license in 10 days.speaking of passing the driver's license test ,it almost drived me crazy .it has been 5 months since i signed up for the license. In April ,i signed up for it .I passed the theory test in May .since there were so many people registered ,I had to postpone practicing driving for about 2 weeks .then it came to June,i spent the whole month learning how to drive in the school.I passed all the driving test of school in July.In theory,i should take tests in school after that ,but i missed it .so i had to begin to complete the real test in August. How lame my country's system of driver's license test is !!! how did you pass the driver's license in your country ? do you like to share with everybody ?

Hi captinjack,
I just obtained my licence this year and it took me one year! We have to pass two theory tests, one basic and one intermediate, then followed by the actual practical test. I failed on my first attempt and took the second one around 4 months later because I couldn't get an earlier date. I am glad I finally passed!

well, did you hear about the korean woman who took 950 attempts at passing her theory test? I wonder how long she needs to pass her practical. lol

When I was in 10th grade all 10th graders with birthdays where they turned 16 at the begining of the school year got drivers education. First we had to learn enough to take a permit test. You could not even practice driving until you took the permit test. After you pass it you can start to practice driving with an instructor and with another licensed adult in the car. We also had classroom instruction on the rules of the road and that prepared us for the written part of our drivers test. Then you take a written test when you think you are ready and then you have to go and take a physical driving test. You have to sit with someone from the Department of Motor Vehicles and drive them around and they have you do certain things. If they thought you did a good enough job you got your license. If not you would have to go back and do it again. They have made the rules more strict now for teenage drivers they have to do a lot of driving with a licensed adult before they are even permited to take the written or physical driving test. You are only allowed to miss like 3 questions on the written drivers test, you also have to pass an eye exam with or with out glasses or contacts.

people can get their learners permit when their 15. that means they can drive in a car with an adult. all that was required to get my learners permit was a simple computer test of multiple choice questions(very easy to pass). one can get their drivers license at 16 where i live which requires a driving test with a driving test instructor in the car. i was little nervous at the time of the road test because at the time i still wasn't that good of a driver even though i did pass.

Well although i am still 19 i haven't applied to the driver's license just as yet and i hope to do something more than just that. I would love to drive a car or a bike but here it would take a lot of time to get a date for the test and on that day if the instructor doesn't come because he has fallen sick or something else has happened to him then it may take even more time than before to get another appointment.
Cheers!

I passed my driving test with ease. When I was taking the written test, the test administrators are talking about the percentage of failures in the written test. There are a lot! I do not understand why they still fail as the answers are all posted on the wall and you just have to look for it and identify it.I got my license a week after my written and actual driving.

It was a really frustrating experience. I took driving lessons at one of the reputed driving schools. The instructors were excellent, both in the theory and the practical lessons. But, when I went for the driving tests, I failed two times, and could pass the test only on the third trial. Oh, that was really very very frustrating. But, any way, I can understand that the officer who conducted the tests wanted to be sure that everyone will be safe on the road. I have the license now, and enjoying driving in the city and on the highways !

Hi,
I got my first driving license when I was in my high school. That was more than 15 years ago and Since I got my first driving license, I seldom drive my family car.
It is simple to obtain driving license in my country,no test to be attend and
with money, everything can be settled. and I took about 1 week to complete the course,Pretty fast, right?
Then only when I was in Malaysia, then I plan to get my Malaysia driving
license and their procedure is totally different with my home country.
I have to attend the course, then learn both theory and practical, have to
attend the examniation and have to pass both the theory and practical exam, then only I can obtain my driving license.
I have been driving for more than 3 years and driving day or night is no problem
for me.
When I first drive car in Malaysia, I was bit nervous on the traffic and I
only dare to those place has lesser cars,I don't even dare to drive to town
area as they are many cars there.
Slowly, as time pastby, I manage to climb out from that fear and now I have no problem even to drive at night time.
I do enjoy driving alot....

Hey captin,
When I was young, there were less vehicles around and we could easily get a Driving License by paying the required amount and some extra to the agent along with the application. Rest was all upto the agent and he did a nice job. He would take care of everything - the Medical Certificates, the scores at the Test(though there never was any test conducted) and other formalities. In about 10-15 days time, he would get you the License and have some snacks with a cup of tea or coffee.
Now things are changing fast and the Authorities are removing the middlemen only to make direct profits. Now though the agent is gone, all you have to do is to contact the authorized people, hand them the cash and if your luck is bad, you have to go for the test(now some people are forced to appear the test where they are intentionally failed so that the records (of failures) look real). Nothing much has changed in India.

We must pass two exams. One is about theory, one is practicing. If we can pass two this exams, we will get driver's license after 2 weeks. However, we must study much more before the test.

i passed it with flying colours :D. 25 out of 26 points(brag mode)
since u put in your file to the day u have your license about 2 months tops pass. you can begin your theoretical courses before you are 18, so at the time you are 18 legally u can take the test. it's cool.

Even before i had my student permit (I'm here in the Philippines)I was driving one of our taxis back then lol. Then after 6months, I applied for a Professional drivers license and I was shock when I took the written exam because all the answers are already encircled(even if theres no answers on the sheet Ican still pass that test). I just kept my mouth shut and had a grin smile and gave my test paper to the examiner. I passed with flying colors and proceeded to the actual driving exam. Damn what I only did was to move forward and reverse about 5meters both. Paid a small amount for the rental of that rusty old jeep and proceed to take my picture and pay my license. That exam was taken in 1993 and this year only, I just added another restriction to drive for a motorcycle. The examination todays is very strict and many failed the exam which I find good because there were so many reckless drivers here in the Philippines.
