Is there such thing as a WHITE LIE?

Someone would ask how does she look on her dress. Knowing for yourself that it doesn't look right on her, why is it hard to tell that it does not fit her well, or she looks fat on her clothes, or it's too tight, or it's terrible on her? Instead, why say, "it's fine", "it's okay", or "good". Why lie when in fact it would be best if you tell her the truth (though sometimes it hurts) than someone else would. Why hide the reality of the matter when your purpose is to make her see the things which can improve her most, inside and out? WHITE LIE... Would it really help to make someone feel better, or just satisfy her ears with good yet fake and deceiving opinions/comments? Why then call a Lie white...when plain and simple, no matter how you do it, it will always be a LIE...a dishonest, untrue, selfish, coward act of a LIAR!

Yes, you're right it does exist. Most people are doing it everyday. to escape the reality in life. But that's wrong. White lie is still a lie. No matter what you say it is still a lie. AMEN......

A lie is a lie. No changing facts there.
Issuing a white lie is being dishonest to yourself (and becoming a false witness).
In the Bible, there's a commandment against that.
It is a lot safer to tell the truth and forget, than tell a lie and get haunted by your conscience.

With a stranger, it is easy to leave our comment abruptly like that. But with a loved one, you see her face, it is full of expectations waiting for your approval that she had chosen the best thing and how can you broke the truth that it is not at all suitable for her? You know, girls spend a lot of time to select anything and they will definitely lose heart, if you say the naked truth. And you have to appreciate her to boost her ego which will inturn give you some benefits, especially in the night on your bed

For the matter of fact, this all depends on the people himself/herself. In my opinion, if you think you don't want to lie, then just go ahead and say it out. Why keep it to yourself and tell a lie. But if you ever think of the person's emotions and thought of him/her feelings then most probably you would think twice before you speak the truth. This all depends on the situation whether you know him/her well of him/her accepting the truthfulness of a comment or recommendations. Some people really cannot accept it, then be prepare to make a lie and compliment him/her somehow rather than making him/her angry at you. But if you do think it's better to just tell him/her straight then just go ahead. It's all up to your own decision.
