When we look up the word mercy in the dictionary it is said to mean the forbearance from inflicting harm. Many people associate mercy with compassion among other things. When you think of mercy, what does it mean to you?

if we were deserving of mercy, i wonder what we would call it. Do we always consider justice with mercy when we think about it? Thanks for your views.

Very ironic because my name means mercy. My real name is Merced which means mercy in Spanish. For me the word mercy means compassion.

Mercy for me as what you've said is some what associated to the word compassion. It is the feeling of sympathy to the person in his/her kind of situation.
