I don't think rich and poor is measurable. But it is not clear to me what factor decide a man is poor or rich. Go into deep, see if you are not satisfy with the money you own than you are poor. If you are satisfy with your money than you are rich. But no one is happy with the existing money won by him or her, therefore, the conclusion is we are poor. What is you opinion?

It's a matter of contentment that's why people have different opinions on their own financial status.

Yes, you are right. But human nature is not built for contentment. Greed overshadowed every Gratification in our life.

Yup and that's why nobody's satisfied. Maybe a bit but not fully contented with anything.

Well I know what poor is, not enough to eat, no way to shelter yourself or your family and no education available. Rich is hader to define, if you were to ask someone I think is rich they would say no we aren't rich, but to me they are.

If we can't recognize ourselves as a rich person than nobody identify themselves as a rich person, that is true. We can say we are rich because there are people who doesn't afford their meal (but we can afford). If a person says to you "You are rich, because you can afford everything which is not affordable for me", than you will say the same (famous) liner, "No I am not rich." So rich and poor meaning (I say meter) changes with persons.

I think that Rich person is who have more assets than liabilities. If the assets bring enough income to you to pay your fee, bills and so other and you have more money to spend for what you want - That is a rich person :)

Your explanation is true, but limited to some extent. Some people have lots of assets and earn in thousands of dollars. Suppose his friend is a billionaire, imagine what would he feels. "I am earning in thousands in a month, but my friend earns a thousand in a day." :)

I wouldnt say everyone is either poor or rich, there are quite a few in between. I would define someone as poor as someone who has to worry about money just to sort of get by (so food, transport, education and so on). So in that case, you could say im not poor, as i live with my parents, and thus i dont class myself as poor, even though i have hardly any money! I would class someone as rich who could spend loads of money without even worrying about how he is going to pay for it. So someone who buys something "useless" e.g. art, a flashy car/house, something like that. But then you make a good point about "us all being poor as we all want more money", but for me pesonally, when i grow up, im not that bothered about having loads of money, so long as i have decent food, house, an average car, and a high spec pc, thats all im really after!

The main factor of human being is his greediness. More we earn, more we need. Actually, we need a life of heaven, but after achieving heavenly life we need an extraordinary heaven which is not existing.

It depends if we are talking on monetary terms or happiness. It is money, then it becomes very straight-forward. However, it we are talking about a higher level of rich or poor, then it becomes hard to define. When we are satisfied with all that we have, even if we are staying in a one-room flat, with a small toilet, with just enough money to get by every month, we are rich. Those who are never content with what they have, will never be rich. No matter how much money we have, we are not rich in the sense that we are never happy about our life. Plainly, we are rich if we are happy with our life, poor if we are sad the whole time.

This will be rare if we can do that. I saw many people earn less but they want to purchase expensive luxuries. They are not happy, because of the loan, EMI of bank. So even they have luxuries they are poor. Think beyond income is one type of poorness.

The saying goes" my mind to to me a kingdom is" That is to say rich and poor is only a comparison. Even a rich man if he compares himself with richer he feels he is poor but if he compares himself with a less fortunate man he feels he is rich. There is no measuring rod to find out rich or poor. The happiest man on earth is the contended man.

If a man compare with a rich man, he feels he is poor. But he can't compare him with a poor. If he see a poor person he feels, "we are poor persons", "he is also poor", "why he or she is poor". But he don't feel "I am rich", "I am richer than him or her", never.

Yes.., man has the tendency to be dissatisfied of what they already have.., they tend to desire for more.., not realizing what they already own.., It's sad, when people are working too hard but not being able to enjoy what they work hard for..right?They want to get richer yet they didn't notice they are already rich.., For me.., poor are those people who can't even afford to buy their basic necessities in life..=(

This is amazing that people won't able to enjoy their life (I'm not talking about all people). He or she ran for more and more (money) but at last happiness ran away from them. Your last line has good explanation.
