Now I Am In a BIG Trouble

Okay... So I think I have to start this with a story.
So I am now trying to reduce my smoking habit, instead of smoking, I think I over eating. Trust me it is not good.
I just realize that since I am reducing cigarettes, I have gained more than 5kgs and that's bad! I don't want this and I don't look good in anything with this weight. I tried to swim twice a week but it won't help.
Of course, the easiest way is just to go back to my old habit and change "eat" with "smoke". It is easy for me. But that's not the way it should be, right?
Now the bomb is: I have 4 weddings at December, and I want to look real good. I want to lose more than 5 kgs in about 2 months, but I just don't know how to start. Anyone have any idea? I am kind of desperate here.

Oh man, what a sticky situation. I am a smoker and I hate that I won't quit because I'm afraid to gain weight. You could do what a lot of people do, and suck on those sugar free hard candies whenever you're craving a smoke. But I'm in a really similar situation. Or, you could try just cutting down and seeing what happens. You'll have to let me know how this goes. I hate that it's such a catch 22 - we want to quit smoking to be healthy, but we run the risk of gaining weight after quitting. What a crummy situation to be in!

I am so glad that there is actually someone who understands. It's not as simple as stop smoking, which I've tried, and I've gained 3kg (about 5lbs) and that sucks big time. I smoke again now, and hope I can control my appetite. After I succeed the diet plan, I might think about stop smoking again... but not now... maybe later...
Thanks, maezee

You don't need to get back from your old habit of smoking in order to loss some weight.
You just need to control your eating habit like how you shrug off your smoking habit before.
If you were able to discipline yourself from no smoking,i believed you can discipline yourself from eating too much.
2 months is enough for you to lose some weight, start from dieting, strict fruit diet and some exercise, you can make it on time

Dear, I eat because I stop smoking. It's like I substitute my smoking activity to eating activity. And I don't like it.
I know that discipline is the key but it is not easy since I don't have anything to do at home. I'm thinking of detoxification before starting on diet. The real diet, like eating more fruit and vegetables. I don't like exercise, the only thing I can think of right now is only swimming twice a week, I hope it's enough.

I think the thing you must learn is discipline, I've been overweight since high school and now I'm graduating in college that I've realized what they call discipline, to tell you honestly it's not an easy thing to do cause it took me this long to learn and able to stop my eating habit... It's actually a battle between you and yourself, its either you want to be fit which could really help you or the food which only feels good when your full. I now realized that there are things in this world which you can enjoy doing than eating which deprives you a lot of things...
