Wayne Rooney overcame personal issues to fire England ahead against Switzerland. Darren Bent and Adam Johnson rounded of the score as Switzerland had a consolation goal from Xhedran Shaqiri. Another good victory for England and they are on their way to Euro qualification. Your views on the match? Cheers! Ram

The red card for Lichtsteiner changed the whole game. I get angry when I see that a referee has too much influence on the outcome of a game. Just remember the second "wembley goal" in the worldcup. Sometimes a referee can break a momentum for a team with one decision. Switzerland played to defensely in the first halftime but were more dangerous in the second half even with only 10 players. I hope that England and Switzerland advance in this group.

I think England are well and truly on their way. But Swiss still have a lot of work to do. Cheers! Ram

An excellent result for England. Swiss is known for their defensive ability and England is able to plunder three goals at their home. And they say this is the toughest match in the group.

Yes, the Swiss have come down from the highs of beating Spain in the opening match at the world cup, to now struggling in the Euro qualifiers. Cheers! Ram

I'm happy for Wayne Rooney. I must be the Only person who doesn't know about his personal problems. What happened? I'm glad it didn't take him off the pitch!

Oh Rooney is having the usual personal problems of a England player. That is cheating on his wife!! Ashley Cole is compulsive cheater.. John Terry showed that he was the captain by cheating with his team mates wife. And now Rooney is involved in a cheating case when his wife was pregnant!! Looks like this is a sure shot ticket to the English team. So much for role models. Cheers! Ram

We must not forget that the referee has sent off Lichsteiner very easily, he played the balled and he received a yellow, which was the second and was sent off. I saw only the highlights and not the game, but England had many goal scoring opportunities and I believe they deserved to win. As I can remember, although I am not following England so much, that they had a convincing game in the WC qualifiers but there they were very poor. So maybe the only thing that matters is to qualify, it doesn't matter how you do it, just do it. Maybe it is nicer to qualify with convincing playing style, but Spain has won the World Cup with ugly football and very much luck, they benefited from heavy referee mistakes. But this is football, and the only thing which remains in history is the pure facts, the numbers and the trophies. Only a few remember how a team played 20, 30, 40 or more years ago.

Yes, they were very good in the world cup qualifiers, but were very lethargic in the finals because they left their young players at home for the world cup!! Cheers! Ram

Its nice to have England right on the track after FIFA 2010. They are fresh, thier appetite of winning can be seen on their faces and body language. Capelo is now a happy man to see his team back in form. I would not comment on Wayne Roony. England Wins that is enough for me.

i think cpello smile in the end of this match (fortunatelly, i see his smiling, LOL). i think even rooney score one goal, this is not his best performance.iam angry when he play like that, he is not focus in this game, seems he think too much about his scandal and influence his playing...but man of the match of the game is adam johnson if i had to choose...shaun wright phillips is good to, his moving and speed make switzerland defender always lost...

Actually on the contrary, most of the observers felt that Rooney actually played very well despite off the field issues. Cheers! Ram
