Demands are really causing pressure especially when it goes beyond your capacity as an an employee. Your eyebrows would start to raise when your boss demands of things which was not in contract. Is it ethical to answer them back in front of other employees?

There are other avenues which can be used if you are not in agreement with your boss especially if the things which he is demanding is not in the contract. Answering back in front of the other employees may get a worker into trouble because it can be be taken as insubordination and may have dire consequences.Talk to him and ask for clarification.

It all depends on what demand your boss is asking from you. Anyway, i do think that it is best that you discuss it personally instead of discussing it in front of other employees. There is more harm than good by doing so even though the things you said makes sense.
