It is not easy to work in the call center. The working pressure is higher. Because usually people make a call to complain. Since that, their attitudes won't be nice but you have to be nice all the time. Besides, the working schedule includes the daytime and night. So your biological clock may be in a mess due to it. And I don't think the pay is very high to work in the call center. I love China

One of those jobs where at first you think...ooh high pay, lots of coffee! Then after a few months...of saying "Hello this is *insert comapany name here* how may I help you?" ...yeah you'd probably want to turn that telephone on yourself..

LOL, but true. I worked from home one summer. I trained and was hired. The pay was great. I didn't have to drive. I selected the 11a - 6pm shift. When I was done. I did not want to talk to my friends. I felt glued to the phone. But I earned $4,000 in 3 months.

I have never worked in a call centre myself, but from what i've heard from a few of my friends that do. Its an ok job as you know the hours are generally the same 9-5 but can also be up until 8pm at some places, unlike my job that is shifts so i can work any hours of the day which is abit awkward at times. I wouldn't like to work in one though because i don't like talking on the phone for long anyway... nevermind continuously ringing and answering calls from strangers/customers.

Working in a callcenter is not bad. Pay is good and if you're looking for something challenging, try a technical account like the one I'm with where we troubleshoot internet connections. But for a working mother, you have to sacrifice a few things like time with your family. Time I spent with my kids has diminished significantly eversince I got employed and I can see a big difference like school grades dropping. Main reason why I'm looking for home-based jobs that will allow me to earn money while at the same time be able to still look after my kids & spend time with them.

Yeah coffee, smoke and stress. The job gives a good pay but you will have less time for your other activities.

I used to work in a call center.. the pay was indeed generous and worth the effort.., I get to shop anytime I want and buy the things that I needed.., But eventually., I got exhausted.., It's hard for me to sleep on daytime.., because I am not the night type of person.., i got sick and I had to quit..=(

I have worked at a call center and hated it. The pay was not too bad but it is usually a mindless job with a script you must follow and after a few days you start feeling like you are a recording. There is usually a lot of pressure from supervisors to sell, sell, sell. Most put selling over everything else including good customer service skills. I am sorry but it just does not make sense to me to irritate a customer, if they state right out they are not interested that should be enough. The company I worked for insisted that you offer three times regardless of how annoyed the customer became. To me that is not good business sense. It also makes me think of competition, you work in your own cubicle with little contact with co-workers, they usually discourage talking and socializing with co-workers because of the noise factor. There are incentives and competitions, which i suppose would be good if you are into that kind of thing but I found that it fostered a kind of cut throat environment. I just found I felt like a number working there not really a person.
