today I removed cash gopher from my computer. Its not because I'm not earning anymore. I'm just worried about the information I'm giving to cash gopher. Yesterday, I received an email from a friend of mine telling me to send money through western union because he was held up near by his hotel at New York and he needs the money quickly. But when I talked to him through facebook he said that he did not send that email. I am not judging cash gopher or telling you guys that it is because of cash gopher. But since the day I installed it, I became uneasy thinking about my security. My email also emailed me that I am promoting a site about money blah blah blah....I always use one computer and my husband is the only one sharing it with me. I don't know what to think about cash gopher.....what do you think guys?

Hi Ellyse,
I haven't installed it. I was curious but decided to see what others who were braver than me thought of it first. My computer runs slow enough as it is even though I have high speed DSL so I really hesitate. The pop-ups would get on my nerves and the software itself sounded a little sketchy to me. So far, I haven't read enough from others to convince me that it would be a good idea to download this onto my computer.

As I mentioned in another discussion, beggars can't be choosers. At this point in my life, wherein I'm soooo strapped for cash, I appreciate all the money I can get in a legit way. Every cent counts for me and I appreciate MyLot and Cashgopher for making me earn income in the convenience of my home. Looking forward to counting the money and laughing all the way to the bank. Ka-ching, Ka-ching!!! Jingle all the way!

Amen! I totally agree.. I take it wherever I get it from.. that also involves taking the $.05 returnable soda cans my coworkers are throwing away out of the garbage cans and bringing them to the grocery store..
A few extra bucks is a few extra bucks- it all adds up in the end.

I don't know much yet, there could also be people trying to trash the software, but I guess you made a good decision, don't forget your security needs to be your main and number 1 priority. If you feel something is jeopardizing it just stick with your instinct.
I installed it and uninstalled it twice now. I think I would much prefer to just refer people to it and let them earn for me.. PS it is good money if you get more than 10 active members :)
at say .50 for each friend who is active the whole day example multiply that by 25% you earn from them you get .125 and multiply that by 10. You get 1.25 a day (thats estimating they earn .50 a day.
Just imagine having say 50-100/ 1000 friends.. See you don't have to have cash gopher on your comp to earn from it :)

After reading everything here I had to laugh! Back, before the website actually opened I was discussing it would be unwise for anyone to automatically trust any website, old or new! Then someone chimed in "but we can trust it, it's from MyLot." Whoop-tee-do! Here we go people! You have to be very careful on the internet, PERIOD!

That is also the one thing I've been worried of. I already been through this kind o software before which works the same as cashgopher and I feel like it is not safe to run this on my computer or laptop so I tried to reassemble my old computer and use it instead of the computer I used most of the time.

This scam has nothing to do with Cashgopher it has hit facebook and hotmail accounts for months and yahoo accounts. It is snots from Netherlands and Germany and Sweden doing this. They hit other places too. Don't blame cashgopher it is not from them it is just all over the net and you need to be careful.

So far Cash Gopher sounds like a scammer's dream and it's now using all your information against you. Evidently they have a list of your friends to send those nice little 'emergency' emails asking you to send money to get your friends out of a jam.
I always wonder why everyone is so quick to jump on new 'get rich quick' sites. Is making a couple of pennies worth losing your whole identity and your bank account? Sounds like that is the real premise behind Cash Gopher.

I'm familiar with this scam. I've known about it several months back already so it is not unique to nor related to CashGopher. Those who are members of Yahoo Groups may have seen this kind of scam.
I know one of our batchmates in high school who was also supposed to have been mugged. Fortunately, there are other communication channels like Facebook so it was easy to verify whether it was a legitimate call for help or not.

Of course, it's another thing to be paranoid about security. I've been through that already last year when I decided to abandon Windows and use Ubuntu (and Kubuntu) Linux instead.
For over a year now, I have not scanned my hard drive for any viruses, trojans or any type of malware. Not even once. So, my paranoia paid off by compelling me to change my perspective.

I thought about installing cash gopher, but I've been reading alot of mixed reviews about cash gopher. I'm not sure what to think of it. Besides security and privacy, does cash gopher take up alot of memory or slow down your computer system?

I have uninstalled cashgopher the following day after installing it. I could not find any earnings since I could not sign in. I loaded the application and have installed the cashgopher application. Sad to note I could not log in. I even sent a message to the "contact us" but no response until now. Perhaps the site is not for me.... Well I am also wondering as to what cashgopher really do. So perhaps you did the right thing.

My dear I believe the scam e-mail you received has nothing to do with Cashgopher. I've been receiving so many e-mails of that sort even without CashGopher in my computer. So those scam e-mails are everywhere even before CashGopher was conceptualized so don't blame CashGopher okay!

I've heard about this scam, even read it somewhere here in the internet. Must be a friend of mine emailed me about it or I happened to read a blog about it.
Anyhoo, I don't think Cash Gopher has to do with it. Anything is possible through internet.
There's this lady who's bugging my husband. And I was surprised to read on her email that she knew my email address plus a picture of me, too! See? Anybody can get access to your personal info without you knowing it. Even facebook is allegedly accessing all private information of its users...
But if you'll feel better and more secure if you'll uninstall Cash Gopher then, by all means, do it, for your peace of mind.:)

The email fraud has been around before cash gopher was launched so i'm sure cash gopher has nothing to do with it. This kind of email fraud has already caught the attention of the media and i heard a lot of people has been victimized by these scammers. Regarding cashgopher's security i suggest you check the announcement from mylot and check cashgopher's blog since they were able to issue clarifications on a lot of allegations that were circulating around about what really is happening when you install cashgopher on your computer. If you worry about your security on line then i suggest you uninstall the software and wait until a lot of people are already satisfied with cashgopher. I for one is not a techie so i'm technically clueless on what's going on inside my computer after i install a software. I could be staring a virus in the face and yet wouldn't know anything about it, that's why i rely mostly on feedbacks by others who are more well verse to this kind of thing before i do anything else. But personally, i think cashgopher is a legit site.I don't think mylot would risk its years of existence by doing any rip offs. but i'm not just comfortable installing anything in my computer since like you i do transactions online too that's why i didn't install cashgopher. So i guess the right attitude would be to play safe rather than be sorry.

I think that it's good that you uninstalled Cash Gopher! I don't trust that program at all... even if it is from MyLot. Who knows exactly what information is being sent anyway??
Good move by getting rid of the program! :)

This is somewhat scary. I live in England at the moment and we're thinking of moving back home to America and I haven't actually heard of Cash Gopher before. And that would be my problem, wouldn't it? All of those things that have come along since we've been living over here, that's fifteen years now. I'm often worried about how much information we are expected to give to computer sites, and even more with those companies that we have to share financial information with. I'm glad that you didn't get stung, and thanks for the warning.
