To be honest, when it comes to numbers - I'm
However, with words I feel more comfortable. During exams, subjects that required me to write relatively more than calculate I did better at.
My friend on the other hand, brilliant with numbers - awful when it comes to essay writing
What about you?
Number Cruncher or Word Muncher?

Funny diamond...
I write better than I can count but then I can remember a lot of phone numbers whereas I might forget the name of a person right after he was introduced!
Aren't I a contradictory person?

Definitely! I just come up with what rubbish I can think of at that moment.

Can't remember names, can't remember numbers - sounds like you'll make a great sales-person.

The nervousness lessens when I just deal with letters and words. I used to be good in math and stuff I don't know what happened on the way. Anyway, I can't just deal with numbers, my brain stops when I see numbers and I'm just lucky that most tests I take are multiple choices, I could just guess and hope that I'm correct.
They say someone good at words/English would do the opposite with numbers/Math and vice versa. Those that do well at both... well, good for them. ^_^

Yeah, thats what my teacher told us too, back in high school, that if you're good in english, you're poor in math. And vice-versa. And i noticed it too with my classmates, and with myself as well. Those who are good in both are the really intelligent ones, the ones with consistently high grades.

Definitely, I noticed this with my close friend, Hayden.
He's getting all highs in Maths, but when it comes to English - he just
I'm the opposite.
So now we've made a deal. Next year, if he takes english...I'll take maths.

Hiya T_Diamond,
What am I a Word Muncher is that what you call someone when they are good at writing instead of Maths should I say the dreaded word?
That is just the way I feel about Maths too spooked out completely.
I must be a Word Muncher then because all of those subjects got me higher marks than Maths. Not that I did not try hard in Maths. At least I tried and no one can take that away from me.
Yes I am definitely a muncher of Words.

hi - I am a Word Muncher versus my sister who is a Number Cruncher and an accountant. She often ask me if she doesn't know any difficult word whilst she is faster with toting up the numbers and solving challenging mathematics questions.

Someone who's a number-cruncher grows up to be an accountant. The Irony.
Thanks for sharing your story, Carpe.

On your corner, of course! LoL!=)
Though, I don't struggle in Math, definitely I'll prefer the universal language than Mathematics!=)That's why I took course with less Math subjects in the curriculum. It's one thing I don't inherit from my father, he's very good in Math(well, her sister[my aunt] is a Mathematician in profession and at the same time teaching Math in Universities too! I was not in their direction, but they seek my opinion at times when it comes to language(especially legal parlance).=)That's what coordination is!LOL!=)

Lol, sounds like you've got a balance. A family of number-crunchers and word-munchers.

I'm definitely worse with numbers and math. Math was always my least favorite subject in school, and I got the worst grades in it.
However, I tend to get tongue tied a lot when I talk, which I thought was what you meant at first by "word-muncher" lol!

I thought of muncher because it rhymed with "cruncher"

I'm a word muncher as you put it. My earlier years with numbers have not been good. I enjoyed reading so much while growing up I felt like visiting many strange lands I've never been before. That's the beauty of reading when you read because you love it not because you have to.

Number cruncher. I like to calculate mentally and I learned to manipulate data because of love for numbers. However, I struggle with words. The reason I joined mylot is to be able to hone my skills in writing and to be able to compose fast. I'm just new here and it takes me a lot of time to compose a response, even as simple as this. Well, I'll never learn unless I practice.

word or number? during exams if there not going to allow the use of calculator and open notes for the formula, i'll definitely get a very low score, but if they will allow i think i can perfect the exam, and for words you ust have to think about it and let your hand do the talking...LOL.. PEAce!!!

Word muncher, definitely! :P
When I was in school I did well on math though, but it's been a long while and I've pretty much forgotten most of the stuff I learned (basically due to lack of use, hehe)... but still, I'm much more comfortable dealing with words than I am with numbers!
