Are Mayan prophecies true enough for believing?

Mayan prophecies are quite accurate with the prophecies. Many prophecies written by their elders or prophets almost came out to fulfillment. Now, Mayan prophecy states that the end of times in this world will be finished by year 2012. I remember the movie 2012, but the more I watch it the more I have the feeling that something extraordinary happenings in our world increasing its numbers and its gravity. Are we getting closer to the Mayan prophecy's 2012?

being more specific its December, 21, 2012
that the mayan calender ends , scientists says that at that time earth will face some solar storms 30-50% higher than the current ones
and , ive also heard some thing about our solar system moving towards the galactic equator
similar panics were seen in year 2000 too
but for now all we can do is wait and see ,
