I personal hate pop. I'm a runner and could never figure out why I didn't lose weight until I stopped eating fast food and drinking pop. Now when ever I do drink it I get a huge head ache and sick.

Hi and thanks for your response! I'm sure you are healthier for not drinking pop! Best to you!

You should NEVER give a child carbonated drinks. To be digested it takes calcium out of the person's body. This leads to lots of problems with poor teeth and bones. Additionally, the sugar in soda pop fools the body into thinking it has had food so the child is less likely to want to eat healthy good stuff. It makes me want to cry when I see people putting pop in a child's bottle or cup.

Hi! I would never have given pop to my daughter as a baby, but now that she is 4, I would give her a little here and there, like when her tummy is upset and 7up might help, etc. I'll bet she does have healthier teeth for not drinking pop!

My children started drinking soda at about 7 years of age. I don't think that was a wise decision. My grandaughter is 10 months old and my daughter has decided no to give her soda only juices. God Bless

Hi and thanks for your response! My daughter is 4 and won't drink it at all. I've tried to give her 7up when her tummy was upset, but she wouldn't have it. She is starting to drink a lot more flavors of juice now. I'll stick with that!

Do you mean fizzy pop? My boys get Scweps Diet Lemonade or Dr Pepper Zero on a Friday or Saturdaty nigh with their tea or at Christmans or birthdays.
I prefer them to drink watered down fruit juice, water, warm milk and warm milky drinks.
I only give fruit juice or fizzy pop with meals because of the affect on their little teeth and tummys.

Hi and thanks for your response! My daughter drinks tons of milk! For a while that's all she would drink. Now she is starting to drink more flavors of juice and just plain water. Yayy!

Hi! and thanks for your response! I'm beginning to wonder if there are reasons why some children like certain sweets and other kids don't.

Only at parties, not at home. I don't know why people have soda for birthday parties it is so bad for kids.

Hi! and thanks for your response! I agree with you. I would rather see milk or chocolate milk or juice at parties, too.

My grandkids mother would give them pop all the time and now my grandson is over weight and would have a soda three or four times a day if it was around. There is nothing we can do to stop him as he is 18. Sugar is so addictive. but I can't get him to believe the fact that the sugar is very bad. You are so lucky that your daughter dosen't like sodas. I have a grandaughter that dosen't like ice cream. now can you beat that. Ice cream! Every kid like ice cream don't they.

My kids all like it but I only allow them to have it for special occasions. Most of the time it is tea, milk, or water that they drink.

Hi and thanks for your response! I think you're right, limiting pop to special occasions is a good thing to do.

Hi! and thanks for your response! My daughter has mostly had milk and water. She wouldn't drink juice for a long time, but now she's starting to drink more and different flavors, too. :-)
