I guess you should talk to him first.., and tell him the importance of studying.., don't scold him yet.. you should be calm in your approach because children can get rebellious if you do it the wrong way.., then observe for a few days after you talk to him.. if he doesn't change a bit for the better.., then I guess you should practice imposing authority over him..=) it's for his own good anyway..

If you son has been doing well in his studies, you should not doubt about his capabilities in handling his time of study. A good student will need sometime for entertainment to ease his brains from all the serious studies in his life. I have a son who I never see studying but he excel in his final year. You can't force him to study as all work and no play makes a dull life. Give him space to venture on his own time to study. He should know his duties as a student.

zhouxi,
In the first place, has your son enrolled into and been accepted by the university of his choice or not?
I hate to add this but you do seem like the both of you had been communicating with each other pertaining to his academics or that you are being over critical with his recent binge on online games and activities. There aren't any details to work or help advising you when your account is blurry and dodgy.
If the answer for the above question in Para 1 is a positive, then I suppose you are being the paranoid when this is the holidays for your son. Just let him enjoy himself and I am sure he will be ready when the university reopens after the vacation break.
Otherwise, you will need to have a personal talk between the both of you. Take care.

As he likes much with internet thing, just ask him to be creative enough in producing new system to make true money online. This is my published article about it; "How do I help myself by helping others in making true money?" and the link to it - http://michaeldadona.blogspot.com/2010/09/how-do-i-help-myself-by-helping-others.html
Ask him to generate his own system and be the genuine system owner. Don't scold him as he's now capable to leg-off from the house and make his own living.

How are his grades? If his grades are good then it should be alright that he's playing games during his summer vacation. I've been playing games on the internet all summer too but when I go back to the university, I plan to study very hard to keep the grades I got last year. Students tend to go a little overboard in the summer with the game playing but sometimes it's only because they work really hard during the school year.

hi zhouxi if you have gone through college remember that it will involve a lot of studying. if you son did well really well last year maybe he is just relaxing for now until he is once again in the college mode.I mean
perhaps he already knows he must study and for now is relaxing in preparation for going full tilt in studying when he is in college. a break from high school before he starts college. wait and see. think you have nothing to worry about. What makes you think he dislikes to study just because he is not studying now? give him a break, he did well last year so he will do well this year. wait and see.
