Well yes, technically i havent been diagnosed with Blood Phobia, but i've been researching on the Internet and i am 95% Sure i might have Blood Phobia (LOL), the symptoms are strange but sometimes when i see Blood i faint or feel really dissy, sometimes i even puke, it is not that serious though this does not happens every single time i see blood, as a matter of fact it used to happen more often when i was younger.
Now that i am 6 Months away from College i am looking for a career and there is nothing i'd like more than Being a Doctor (God knows why!), i've always wanted to be a Doctor, but with this Phobia eh i really dont know it is Ironic dont you Think?
Anyways i've been researching on the internet and i think there is a "Cure", people say that going to therapy with a Psychologist could help but i think that "Self Exposure" to these kinds of situations (Bloody situations!) would be the Best idea, What do you people think?
I seriously Do not Want to Give up this Dream of Becoming a Doctor!!!

Hi Dharma!
Do you think that doctors always have to open up and perform surgeries or stitch out the wounds? There are other areas too and you can try out specializing in them. How about Radiology? Or Anesthesia? Just a couple of starters. You can also study and become a doctor in Alternative Medicine or even Naturopathy or even Homeopathy. There are many avenues and the only thing is that you have to find out which one you want to pursue.
Good Luck.

Hey thesids, thanks for your reply, yes i know there are other ways but in order to first become a doctor well you'll need to be exposed to some of those situations, then after "General medicine" you can choose an speciality, either way Anesthesia sounds very good, i'll look more into it!

You might find this hard to believe but the mind is so powerful that it can obey orders directly from you. If you tell yourself a lot of times that you don't have blood phobia, eventually it will believe it. It's like hypnotizing yourself.
I know this needs constant practice so take baby steps. Try looking at small dosage of blood at first then gradually make it with large doses. Please have somebody near you just in case you faint.
Also, focus on your dream on becoming a doctor. If you want it bad enough, you will definitely get it as long as you focus on the solution and not on the problem. Good luck to you, Doc! Just remember me when you are already successful and earning a lot. All the best to you!

I would do try doing the therapy as soon as possible, because when you start studying to become a doctor, maybe you'll realise you are not going to overcome this blood phobia. And I'm afraid it's kind of impossible to become a doctor if you get sick every time you see blood.

Not every time, i think it only happens on "Risky" situations, like when i do not know whats going to happen hehe, but i think it is getting better as time pass by, when i was a child i did have a problem, now i can handle myself better!

Ah... Relax. When you see blood all the time, you'll get used to it. Lol. For real. Pkus you get to study it so you'll have more reason why not to fear it. Good luck on your studies!

Yes. You can still be a doctor. Your aversion to blood is something shared by many. Your determination, if strong, to become a medico, can definitely cure you of this phobia. Professional help will hasten this process too.
