How Do You Raise Your Reputation Rating?

I'm not sure why, but my reputation rating dropped slightly (from 10 to 9). I think I may have inadvertently violated one of MyLot's guidelines. How do I raise my reputation rating again?

Hello there. No need to worry. That happens here. As long as you read the guidelines, you'll get that blue star soon. I am currently experiencing what you are going through by the way. I had a blue star for some time and I have a red star now. It could be possible that other mylot members rated our posts/discussions negatively but it could be possible as well that our ratings decreased because some of the posts we responded to got deleted eventually. Just keep speaking out your mind; share your opinion and you'll definitely get that blue star soon.
You should check this link out to raise your reputation rating:

Best of luck

Well, a couple of my posts got deleted because the original post was deleted. I think I should also carefully choose the topics that I respond to. I think I shouldn't worry about the color of my star as long as I know that I'm doing and giving my best. Nevertheless, I will check out the link you posted. Thank you, Meeming.

Hi dear,
Yes, if we say something, it may not be the exact reason. As per my observation the 'quality' is the most concerned factor here. Also, they are given certain guidelines for the 'quality' also. But, the quality for us and the quality for myLot may varies and so that it cannot be measured. Better English, exact guidance, proper posting, maximum characters are can be some of them.
In fact yesterday I have made a random checking. When I just kept the mouse over the star, of some one, his star sigh is 9 and shows 85/100 and his post figures is showing only 135.
That means they are reached by activating on 135 posts, they are on the level of 9 star. Whereas mine is 885 with star rating of 8 and ranking with 84/100. Also, I have kept maximum loyal to all my postings and queries etc.
So, I just had a doubt by area wise this rating moves little bit favouring. As someone stated, I am not bothering anything other than my level best of quality.
I don't even sure that any one is regularly checking the topics or a dedicated team is watchful of these things. I have got a few notifications at the initial time but there is no issue as of now.
But there is now downward movement for me. There are several thing that is not mentioned here who it works.
But, a positive and regular trend from our side as per their instruction may improve your identity.
Regards,
Thank-s

Yes, I think we should focus more on the quality of our posts rather on our reputation score. Our posts will show what kind of MyLotters we are and we should aim to be the helpful and interesting kind. Thank you.

Hi dear,
Immediately after sending the response to you, I just noticed that my star symbol 8 has jumped to 9 and the colour has changed to red.
However, I think this is a system generated on the post we make and considering various other factors.
Hope it will increase with our constant work with myLot.
Regards,
Thank-s

Thanks~, the rating has nothing to do with the users reputation.
The user rating (the larger number next to the username) shows the level of a user's activity on myLot. It counts the number of posts, and it can't tell anything about the quality of the user's activity.
The myLot reputation is the number in the star next to the username and it relies solely on the myLot users. It can go up or down depending on how your posts are rated by the other users.

Your friends keep hitting pluses. Someone didn't like a response you gave and put a negative. Not sure what happened there, but probably had to be more than one person, one would hope anyway. -1 is not a big deal. Actually the numbers don't mean much to those of us that have been around, newbies, maybe.

I agree with you. I think I may have annoyed somebody because the suggestion I offered didn't work. That person didn't even say thanks and sounded annoyed when he (or she) replied to my post. Well, it's okay. I'll just keep on posting, helping and earning! Thank you.

I really don't think you can directly influence your rating. There are other "forces" involved. Just focus on posting and reaching the 500 post count so you can copy and paste in your posts. If you haven't reached your first cashout yet, that would be another exciting milestone.
In any case, worrying about stuff that is beyond your control will just keep you from posting more. So, I suggest that you just focus on stuff that is within your control.

Yes, that's true. I should just focus on writing good quality posts. I think Writer's Edge is right. Somebody didn't like my post and hit minus. Whether other MyLotters like my post or not is beyond my control so I shouldn't worry. Thanks.

Let's see we are rated on what we say and I guess what we think. We get colored stars and the more we talk nice the higher number we get. Sounds like elementary school to me. I don't give a tinker's damn about a color star or a number on my star or about a star for that mater. This is a SOCIAL site so we should be able to say whatever we want within reason without being graded for it.

I think that's the reason or some are not participating daily so their reputation dropped down.

I don't think that's the reason. I've been here often, but my rating doesn't automatically reflect that. And last week for about one week, I didn't post anything and that didn't seem to affect my reputation.

I also don't think that's the reason. I earned a reputation rating of 10 when I seldom participated in the discussions. However, I made sure that my posts were of good quality every time I participated. Anyway, thanks.

hello blindmoongoddess,
I think if you keep anwering question it should be raise back to what you had.
Sometimes it may take awhile but you can get it back. Also rating answers to questions should get back to oringinal state I hope.
I wish you the best of Luck.

Don't worry about your reputation. I also used to worry about the color of my star, but now I don't think it's so important. I started with a white star, then I got a yellow one. After a while, almost overnight, my yellow star turned into a purple one. That was the moment when I decided to stop worrying about this. My reputation started to go up, and now I have a red star.
Just write your thoughts and be who you are, you'll see the colour of your star changing in no time. Good luck!
