Friends for past one week, I see advertisement in my local news paper at TV abut ‘Great Exchange Offer’, it says bring any old camera, take the latest digital , high mega pixel camera in exchange, we give you 2000 to 3000 rupees for your old camera of any make or model. It was from a famous shop in my city.
Well excited I went there with a very old 16 exposure, 127 roll size cameras, which I had bought in 1958. It is no more in working condition, and I tell you the paper roll, black and white films are not available too.
I was shown cameras of Canon, Fuji and Kodak make. They didn’t see my old camera even and offered exchange price of 2000 to 3000 rupees depending upon model of new camera I buy. This made me rethink over the offer. I noted down the model numbers of the cameras and asked my friend, who sells camera only.
I was shocked to learn that these were all out dated models or those which have complaints like high battery consumption.
Most shops sell them at a price 3000 rupees less than the MRP. Thus it was a hoax, a technique to clear old, unpopular stuff. What about your place, I think you must be having some similar story to share.

I wish people would stop filing false claims and scamming people, its money, it has little value, but in which we exponentiate with our minds to make a material object worth of value. A penny cost the government .998 cents to make, the dollar bill about 23 cents, 20 dollar bill about 27 cents. The government is almost the largest scam ever idealized into reality. It has made a profit off of money itself! Don't fall into claims such as that before you do research, because suprisingly they buy those things on sale for almost 1/16th the price they sell them on. Please, Agree. LOL Hope this Helped!

Hi professor!.
I realize it too. Few month ago there is also those kind offer from big supermarket chain from France. They offer to exchange our old stuff with new electronic in their store but I realize its always more expensive than regular store thats sell electronic only. Like if I blender Philips in they store it will cost me $45 or $35 in promotion price but I can buy it in regular store with $25.

Yes, there are lots of people who wants to advantage the use of the internet by scamming other people. These people are gradually destroying the essence of internet. They are soul less and don't care how they could get money by lying.

In my country this is the same but companies marketing says that they gave the discount if you bring your old stuff (washing machines, frigos, TVs etc...) because they are to GO GREEN and they want to recycle them to save tha nature!
Which is a good deal if they gave these discounts to top quality products not only the ones they want to run out because of complaints or esle.
