There are lots of people who like to be comfortable only when they are traveling, but some people like to dress up when they are traveling, specially if they are flying. I can understand that some people who travel for official trip they need to dress up well. But anyway some people will dress up in real fashion when they fly, specially girls.
Personally I like to be more comfortable when I am traveling, it does not matter I am flying or driving. Simple jeans and shirt is best for me. I wonder how people can be comfortable in a long journey wearing very tight fashionable dress with high pencil heel and also carrying all the luggage.
How do you dress up when you travel?

I find it so hilarious to one comment about doing a trip tease just to get near the aircraft. It's indeed a fact. What an irony. When traveling I go for comfortability. But there are instances when you have to go straight to your appointment right after you alighted from the plane, hence it is a must to dress up the right suit for an occasion. So it depends.

Totally understandable, if someone need to go directly for an appointment they should dressed up beforehand.

I always dress comfortably when I travel. I will wear a nice pair of jeans, and a nice (but comfortable) shirt. I dressed up in a suit once for an eight-hour drive, and I swore I would never do it again. If I am going somewhere that I need to be dressed up when I get there, I can always find somewhere to change clothes once I get there...

There are not much advantage of dressing up hours before an event, anyway you would look tired after driving hours. It is always better to dress up after getting into the destination.

I overheat when I travel, so I always wear as little as possible (still being decent!) I get all hot and bothered when I travel, making sure I have left enough time, making sure the connections work, or get anxious if things don't go according to plan, I sweat without exertion at the best of times, so I have to travel light clothes wise, especially if I am carrying heavy bags! I find travelling enjoyable yet stressful. I like loose clothing and I have to be comfortable, preferring baggy over tight fitting garments. I don't care how I look, if it's a long journey comfort comes first! Would be nice if I could travel in my underwear lol! Because I am a sweat magnet and guaranteed in five minutes I'll be soaked!

I totally understand the anxiety of travel. If I am driving somewhere then it is not that of concern about timing, but if I fly I always make sure of having some extra time.

When dressing up for travelling my priority is more on comfort than to look fashionable and trendy. So I go for loose fit clothes mostly , like cargo pants and T-shirts. I am more comfortable in them and at the same time they dont look bad.

I agree, cargo pants are comfortable and trendy. I also like to wear those.

It's strange now you mention it, I used to travel in a suit and tie! But that was a long time ago. Now we have to do a strip-tease in front of 400 people just to get near an aircraft! Metal detectors! Are you wearing clean underwear in case you get run over by a bus? Well, THAT phrase needs changing! Ladies, don't wear an under-wired bra when flying!

Now also there are people who travel in suit and tie. Personally if I see someone on a plane with suit and tie I feel like they are on business tour directly going to meet their client.

Hi sweetlady10, I dress up depending on the occasion but I only wear the required dress when I'm already at the venue of the event. When traveling I prefer comfortable clothes like simple shirt and jeans and I'm really not the branded type of person when it comes to clothes.

I always dress comfortably when I travel, whether by plane or car. I want clothes that do not bind me, are not too tight. I want shoes that I can walk in if I have to. What if there is an accident? You need to be able to get around in a safe manner.

I am also careful about the shoes. Usually while flying you need to walk a lot in between gates and terminals, always better to have comfortable shoes on.

I dress pretty much the same all the time, as I always try to dress smart or at least presentable. I think it's important to focus on your image and make sure you don't look untidy, which is one of my problems as my hair as the habit of going up and not staying down.
Luckily that's my only real issue.

Even though I wear comfortable clothes, I like to wear makeup, and have my hair done nicely. I want to look respectable.

When I go off traveling I like to pack comfortable clothes that are practical for my trip. In a hot climate I am likely to wear a short sleeved cotton blouse and a pair of cotton trousers. I always wear sensible looking shoes with a low heel. I don't like to dress up to the nines when I am traveling on trains, buses, ferries or planes. I don't see a journey as a fashion statement. I take a backpack so my sort of dress suits me I think. It is a casual style that is right for me because I am an independent traveler. One time I was given a boarding pass for the business class even though I had paid for the economy class. In that part of the cabin some of the other travelers were dressed up looking very fashionable.

Hi there sweetlady10!
I travel a lot. When I do, I make sure that I am dressed up comfortably. It does not really matter whether I travel by plane or by car or whatever. I want to be as comfortable as possible.

Not really....its always comfortable to travel in shorts when you are travelling on an tour or picnic. But if you are travelling on a busines trip or a professional trip it is advisable to travel well dressed.

Yea I do dress up my best, maybe just a sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans. It's important though, to dress up well as it brings out your character and what people think of you.

I like to dress well when I have a trip. First, I think this action means I was pay close attention to each trip. Secondly, I like to take photos on the way. Thirdly, it can give me a good mood, maybe it also give a good impression to my partners. I like to have trip very much!

I prefer simple jeans shirt while travelling.Off course the dressing sense detrmines the personality and the way he thinks a lot so dressing should always be graceful and decent. It should not be eye catchy as I find few of the girls wear so much fashionable accessories along with tight fit jeans shirt in order to atrract attention specially while flying.Fashion is good but it should not come with vulgarity.Iam married so even when I wear jeans shirt I wear whatever a married girl has to wear in India and that makes me look more beautiful I feel.

When I travel I'm with my 2 kids who are under 5 so for me I require maximum comfort and something that doesn't show stains too readily. I invariably wear black tops which actually show up stains more than anything so I don't really follow my own advice! The last time I flew, I wore a pair of cotton three quarter length trousers with lots of pockets, a pair of flip flops and a black t-shirt. From that description you can see that I don't particularly dress up for travelling. When I flew from Japan to the UK once there were a couple of 'Shinjuku girls' on the flight wearing short, short skirts, staggeringly high heels, little strappy tops and gallons of make-up. Once on the plane, they disappeared into the toilets for ages but came out with their make-up scrubbed off, hair tied up and both wearing jogging suits and slippers. They then proceeded to sleep for about 10 of the 12 hours waking up in sufficient time to transform themselves back into a couple of glamour pusses. Perhaps that's how the high-heeled, pencil skirted traveller does it?
