Yes, I think that computers limit people to the computer. Nowadays, I feel lost if I don't have 'the internet' with me. During my free time, I would need the computer, either to search for information or simply to spend my time.
With the internet, all of us start spending more and more time in front of our computer. We even forgo our most precious television as now shows can be watched online.
As such, we forget about friends, about our social life as we like to sit in front of a screen to do things. I do admit that it is much simpler looking at the screen chatting with people as compared to seeing them face-to-face.
Furthermore, with the technology of the internet, I realise that we have started to become very dependent on the computer. What was once our pen and paper has now become microsoft words, excel etc.

Yes, the computer is a very anti-social thing! You are absolutely right, we don't give enough time to our friends and, most definitely, we are damaging our health by NOT having enough exercise.
Worse still, even online, the computer is anti-social. We chat with unknown people, lie about our age and gender, and still have the nerve to call it social networking!
Even here, are we really thinking about posting good responses or about making money?

Since computers came into existence this has been the one disadvantage I think! I think that being on the computer for the majority of the time well, this definitely affects your social life! I don't have a social life in anycase so I don't mind spending a lot of my time on the computer. I'm quiet at heart and I don't find it easy in groups or crowds of people.
If I look at it objectively though then I guess there has to be a balance as with anything. Are family members being neglected so that the computer can be enjoyed? If this is the case then action needs to take place without delay! I think that social networking sites are quite popular now and there are a lot of people that spend a lot of time on these sites and they tend to forget about their own lives outside of the computer screen!
Generally I like to finish my evening on the computer and this certainly works for me. Andrew

I can see how we limit ourselves form the outside world especially if we are on here to earn in order to survive some days.
Although I am a heavy computer and internet user, I do have a balance in my life as I exercise 5 days a week on my home bike. As for the outside I do play softball every summer for a charity team for the last 5 years.
Outside of these I do tend to neglect the rest of the world as my time is quite limited.

I think it depends on the person and his/her choice. If it's part of the job then we really can do much about it if it takes our time. And what if the person can't do sports and stuff, so computers becomes their outlet.I think certain situations would affect our time with the computer unless someone is really in 'addict mode' those people are there but most wouldn't stay too much in front the computer, just waiting for the right time to get out.

It depends on what exactly you mean. It's hard to argue that the internet is catalyst for anti-social behavior when the average internet user spends most of their time on social networking sites where they keep up with their friends, make new friends, share media, etc. The internet has made people far more connected than was ever dreamed possible in decades past and I think this is a generally good thing (there are obvious downsides to this, of course).
Now, if you were to argue that the internet, in general, decreases productivity I would agree. I would also agree that the internet takes away from physical activity, though I wouldn't go so far as to blame America's obesity epidemic specifically on the internet.
Overall, the internet has its trade offs, as most other things in life but, on the whole, has been a tremendous benefit to our society.

I am not agree with you..as you say that people don't give time to their friend.. because they are busy with computer.. i think this is wrong.. it is only your and also mine thinking.. because only we can see other peoples activity.. and only by seeing we can't judge anything about person.. I think it is depend on person.. that how can he/she manage their time and utilize it.. i think.. it is not possible that any person sitting in front of computer for whole day.. In 24 hours he/she may get at least 2-3 hours for meeting their friends and other peoples.. and now is the time of computer.. and internet.. because these things have changed our life completely..

For sure computers isolate people from communicating and socialising with others. They make it so the only way people can communicate with other friends is for them to use facebook or text them and rarely do they acutally meet each other face to face.I find today's generation very addicted to computers and technology and they find it hard to live without it and don't know how to talk to each other that well without it.
