On sleeping...Strange but True!

Strange but true! It has become my new habit that I will not go to bed unless it's almost two in the morning. It's like my mind won't rest unless the clock trikes 2:00 a.m. I've always been a nocturnal type of person, I believe. :) The surge of energy starts when it's nine o'clock. My creative juices are at its best when there's no sun. It's like a lot of ideas are popping out when I am supposed to sleep already. I've tried going to bed early. Like 11 p.m. and I will just notice the hours passing but my mind is wandering. Worst of all, the more that I want to sleep, the more that I can't.. Strange but true! Have you had this too? What do you do to help you doze off easily?

Actually, like you I could not go to sleep before midnight. But it is not because my mind is active. If I sleep before midnight I will wake up at around 2 or 3am and then I cannot sleep anymore. I don't know why I wake up at those early hours. If I sleep after midnight, I will wake up at around 7am or 9a on weekend. So, instead I will do MyLot, studying languages and chat before midnight is over.

We seem to have a lot in common my friend :) Yes, MyLot is indeed a good venue to pass away the time.

I am nocturnal too and lately I have been sleeping at 6 am! I read and all that but I can't sleep until 6 am! When it's 6 am I am asleep already lol. I guess the body is programed to sleep during that hour so it's awake on the other time.

Hi there. That was some interesting nature of yours huh?!! Hmm, I don't have this but I do sleep late about 12am or so. Well, to doze off easily, you can try the old fashioned method---counting sheeps, LOL. Second is to close your eyes and don't open them and you'll eventually fall asleep.

I've done all of that already but none of those worked for me.. :) I guess I'm so good in counting that I tend to overdo it and my focus keeps me awake all the more.. :)

Our bodies will tell us when we are ready for sleep. we can't all follow the same time table. if you are not ready for sleep until the wee hours of the morning there is nothing wrong with that. That is when your mind and body will be at rest for you and allow you to get the sleep your body needs.

Perhaps its a sign of stress or maybe you're just thinking too much. :) Try to relax before going to bed or have a massage. Taking warm bath and drinking herbal tea could help too. Listen to soft music when you're in bed. Consider exercise as your habit during the day, and as much as possible avoid caffeinated drinks. I hope this helps you..

Hi jeffyryi! Yes, I am thinking too much! And a lot! :) Listening to music didn't help me..Maybe they're the wrong kind of music.. Haven't been moving strenuously lately so exercise might be a good start. I am a caffeine addict so I doubt if I can avoid that.. :) The massage and the warm bath both sound very good. I'll try any of the two immediately. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi sweetlove! It's not much of the worries. It's like my head wants to still do a lot. That's why I tried writing because after I've written some, I feel sleepy already. I might try your tip on drinking warm milk although I am more on those with caffeine . Maybe it's about time for that healthy switch.. :) Thanks sweetlove!
