I have to admit that it's very nice living in the modern world! I have become so used to technology now that to suddenly have to live without it would be unimaginable! I think that this is probably our weakness now! I have never been brought up on a farm and so I have no idea what that kind of life is like! I can imagine it to be very hard and laborious.
I need the Internet as I virtually do everything online now including shopping, banking and obviously posting away on My Lot! I also love my television and I spend a few hours watching tv, there's nothing wrong with this in my view, each to their own I guess! I think that life without electricity would be impossible and it's not a life I would willingly choose for myself. I know that there are many people in the world that are living in the past and choose not to use electricity; all credit to them in trying to save the planet and not leaving a carbon footprint as it were! I don't have a tv and I don't miss it, but I don't want to live without the internet. I use the internet in so many different ways: I study online, I work online, I have an online gallery, I use the internet to find information, I keep in touch with my friends through the internet, I watch films online, I play games etc. There are a lot of things that I wouldn't be able to do if I didn't have access to the internet, and it would be hard to be to go back to a life without internet.

I can live without tv and cable. Actually, if I could get tv without cable I would do it that way. I definitely need the internet. I work on line and it is most of my social life too right now so I'd have to say that's the one I couldn't live without!

Hard to say, but i agree with you. Internet is very important to me those days, it can replace the TV to watch your sports games, movies, news and i can get some money on the NET, like here in MyLot. But i need to say that i love TV too :)

It is true that with time the necessities changes. This is the scientific age, where we are slaves of all machine. It is rather obvious that without these means of communication and entertainment, we might turn into lonely beings. However, it still is controllable. For me the my requirements actually makes me decide what is best for me. There are times when I am okay with Cable T.V or just music. The internet in this side of the planet is still under development. We are yet to hit a 3 mbps speed - that means we actually get 3 mbps downloading speed. For me it is still need and not necessity.
