I haven't tried brea$tfeeding for some personal reasons. How about you? Have you tried it in public? What is the feeling? One friend of mine said, it's like urinating in public. Is it so?

Hi Ktmatunog, I don't think it can really be compared to urinating in public. I nursed all my girls when they were infants. I did not nurse them in public but that is not to say that it is wrong. There were times that I nursed them around people when we had company. There is a way that it can be done so discreetly that no one will see anything. I was always careful about who I nursed around. Some people get very uncomfortable and embarrassed about these things and I would just go into another room for a little while.

You have a way of solving things out! Guess that counts! Yeah, we should be careful about this though as you have said. "Urinating in public" would be an exaggerated phrase to say it is embarrassing to do it in front of unknown people, right? Because urinating in public is much more embarrassing than brea$tfeeding in public. What do you think?

i nursed both my kids until they turned one. i cant stand the smell of formula going in...or out...the only public feedings i ever did were in the car in a parking lot. i saw other moms do it while they were walking through walmart i just couldnt bring myself to do it. when someone walked by the car i would panic thinking they were going to freak out. its something that society is supposed to accept but just cant. everyone is different and nursing is just not for some. at this point formula has just about the same amount of good things in it too. but to me it still smells horrible!!!

really? some do that while walking? wow, incredible. lol Yes it is true. In brea$tfeeding, the baby's poop smells more aromatic (haha what is the word for this?) than the infant who is bottlefed. And it creates more bonding between the child and mother. It has very many good advantages than the bottlefeeding.

yeah I think so too. That it is not appropriate to do it in public. But some wouldn't care on doing such thing. But the people around you often get distracted on what you are doing. They can also feel that "uncomfortable feeling" which would make them awkward to look at you. They might also say or think something bad at you. so mothers should be aware of these things. Even if they don't care about this issue, they should think on the other people's thinking too.
