Do you agree of killing dogs?

I strongly disagree! dogs have the right to live and as the owner you have your responsibility to your pets.

I don´t know what I would do if I was starving. Thankfully, I have never been in that situation. I take it that you haven´t either: you talk of dogs as guardians of your material posesions. How would you solve the problem of all those starving people? Did you know that this year (2010) 1 billion people will die of starvation?. It is a horrifying thought, much more than the thought of killing and eating an animal. Probably the dogs they eat are not their pets. They almost surely are street dogs. Where do they get those dogs you talk about? Do they belong to someone?

In my country, there are still some restaurants to kill dogs and eat them, but the condition is improved,people's conception is changed.

Very controversial subject. Of course I disagree with that practice, but I live in a culture where dogs are pets and service animals, not livestock. In some cultures they're more considered possessions and are closer to being livestock than pets/emotional beings. I disagree with using dogs or cats for food, but I also know that logically, with the numbers of strays and wild dogs in some cultures it serves numerous purposes. In an ideal world we'd be controlling the populations of these animals, and we wouldn't be eating them, no. We wouldn't be killing them for any reason other than humane reasons, but once more, that's a view that I realize is based on culture. I wish it wasn't, though. I do wish all cultures viewed dogs as pets and friends and service animals rather than a last resort meal.

I agree with you. I dislike kill dog. Dog is a best friend with us. They can understand our mind, attitude.

First, killing an animal is already a sin, especially when they do no harm to us. So why do we have to do these cruel things? Second, if it is a dog, then it's totally violent when we kill the kind of animal that is really intimate to us. They are our friends. If people can not take good care of them, then do not treat so to these lovely animals

I think this a difficult subject for most people to wrap their head around- even I find trouble. I love my dogs (and cats) as a part of the family. However, it is kind of hard to say that you would not kill an animal for food if you and your family were starving because it is our instinct to survive. Dogs are companion animals and it is hard to imagine someone eating an animal that we consider our friend or family. But sometimes people do not have other animals readily available, whether they cannot afford the meat or cannot hunt it. I am sure that if the homeless/jobless person could catch wild rabbits instead, they would. I have never been put in such a position to where I would have to make such a decision.

I can see that you are from the Philippines and so I am..:) Where are you exactly in the Philippines? It is a common custom to our fellowmen in Northern parts of the country to eat dog meats because of their beliefs. However, I don't agree with what they are doing because for one, it is dangerous to eat the meat due to the diseases it can give to the human body. Secondly, dogs are not for human consumption but they are deemed as pets and eating them is prohibited by law here in our country. I love dogs and I personally can say that I will not kill my dogs even if we starved. I just couldn't take that much risk. The hunger in your place must be worse than they are doing this to our poor legged friends. I hope they will stop doing that, for their own sake and the dogs as well.:(

I don't agree of killing dogs or even cats. They have the right to live.

im not, even they are wild sometimes it is not right to kill them. they are living like us, so killing or not for us to do.

I beg to disagree in this thing (killing of dogs). Why? It is not good to kill dogs because they are our guards at home. Killing them for food purpose is very dangerous. It is highly prohibited, but some areas prefer to do this because they have no other options. Alibis are always in us I know. But I also believed that there are "some" people who really in dilemma of where to get their foods as one of human's daily needs to survive. Some people, cruel people, just kill dogs for no reason at all. I really hope and pray that this can be stopped. AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

I think killing any living being is a sin whether its a dog or a human. "those people which are jobless are always killing dogs so that they have food to eat" this is not an excuse, what would they do if there were no animals, kill each other and eat. If they cannot buy food there are many alternatives like collecting fruits and vegetables from forests, which I suppose would be there as the conditions have been specified.Collecting fruits is much easier than hunting animals. People who eat animals for taste even when God has created us with a vegetation digestible stomach are not humans, they are daemons.

No i do not agree to that.For all you know humans and animals have so many things in common and if not for anything,one day we shall all be be in the same earth.Dogs for that matter must be protected and not be killed.
