Castro's Shocking Confession!

Sorry I don't have a link, as I only just heard this on the news, but I'm sure you can Google it. Castro has confessed the Communist system in Cuba is NOT WORKING. A pause here to let the incredibleness of it all sink in.... !!! Castro went on to say more, but I just want to ask a question, to wit: Will the "useful idiots," i.e. the likes of the lard-brained, anti-American Michael Moore & the rest of the anti-capitalists who have gushingly praised "the Cuban model" now admit they were--at best--taken in, or more likely, just lying through their rotten teeth? Will the Hollyweird crowd now stop trying to convince people that the "People's Paradise" was a miserable, murderous, soul-destroying dictatorship that has resulted in one of the most egregious regimes ever? Will the Leftists in D.C. do it? Humility from that mob? Or, as I strongly suspect, will they all either slink into the shadows & hope everyone missed the news, or forgets, or more probable, given their historical pattern, will they begin ginning up the idea that "poor old Castro" is merely a senile old dear, & can't be taken seriously any longer? Come on, you pro-Communist Cuban system fanatics! Apologize! Man up! Admit you were at least hoodwinked, & begin clearing the cobwebs from your minds! I'm not holding my breath, waiting for it to happen, mind you. One miracle--honesty from Dictator Castro (!)--is more than I ever expected from this lot in one lifetime. These sycophants don't have the biscuits to admit they were WRONG. All this is yet another reason I never give up hope for miracles. Life is just packed with surprises! Thanks for the clip-link. I've been ill (& so has my 'puter), so I've missed out for awhile since I posted this. I believe I first caught it on the radio, & hadn't seen much on TV. Good to have this. Thanks. And, I guess, in a macabre way, it is amusing. Watching the old scoundrel tell the truth, & scare the poojies offa the Left! LOL! Yeah. That is funny. Maggiepie “Liberty means responsibility. Here are several links, Maggie. I heard about this days ago from someone I used to go to school with in Venezuela (where Hugo Chavez is trying to model his "democracy" on Cuba's model). They expressed hope that Chavez would get the message before he totally destroys that wonderful country! http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/09/09/castro-admits-cubas-communism-doesnt-work/ http://www.aolnews.com/world/article/fidel-castro-admits-cuban-communism-isnt-working/19626654 http://arabnews.com/world/article131876.ece http://www.cleveland.com/world/index.ssf/2010/09/fidel_castro_admits_cubas_comm.html

Everyone will just deal with this with the behavior known as "the polite lie". When someone makes an inappropriate gaffe, or a disgusting body sound and/or smell, the truly polite people will smile and graciously ignore it, perpetuating with their behavior with the "polite lie" that nothing untoward happened. So it will be with this announcement. They will pretend that noise was nothing that we need to take heed of or be concerned with. By ignoring Castro's statement they will make it as if it never happened. Either that or they will say something was lost in translation.

Quite telling, yes. It shouted louder than all the lies the Left kept spouting. Maggiepie “Liberty means responsibility. That is why most men dread it.” ~ George Bernard Shaw (Possibly the only thing about which I've ever agreed with GBS)

Hi Maggiepie - it was to be expected - when you deny the person working hard for it to favor the person who is not working hard, or is just contributing to the population without contributing to the nation's earning, then some sort of dejection is bound to set in amongst the hardworking lot. As to the ones receiving, they would become more complacent. Eventually communism as concept is not really viable. It breeds more corruption, and all that goes with it.

Oh, it was expected the system would fail, yes. What was completely unexpected was Castro's admitting it! Yes, the building blocks of Socialism & Communism are made of cheap sand, & always crumble. Capitalism, tempered by a decent citizenry, is far stronger, as it really only flourishes in freedom! Maggiepie “Liberty means responsibility. I wish the rogue rulers of North Korea and the unpolished leaders of Communist China will follow Castro's lead of admitting their system is not really working. Then the there will be sounding trumpets from the towers of Capitalism.. final victory!

I wish I still possessed the oxygen to blow a trumpet, myself, if that should happen! Already the Chinese are trying to blend capitalism in, in a "limited way," as they, like all the rest, have realized that Socialism/Communism goes against human nature (which can't be changed by man), & thus is ultimately unworkable. They'll eventually realize that the 2 systems are anathema to one another, & then I know we'll hear trumpets blow! Maggiepie “Liberty means responsibility. well it takes a wise man to own up to his mistakes. At eighty something, I think Castro has seen it all and knows it all. I really hope the interview was from him anyway. I must confess here that capitalism is not without bites like the economic meltdown that most countries experienced. I think irrespective of what economic theory you practise, the key is steadfastly holding to the principles honestly. For those of us that would quickly hail this as encompassing, we should remember that China did not face a recession because of thestringent economic management they hold dear

I submit that the economic breakdown the world is currently witnessing doesn't stem from Capitalism, but rather the hamstringing of Capitalism by crazy, experimental & Leftest economic theories set loose on the world by untempered greed coupled with Leftist manipulations set to control entire populaces. That's anything BUT how one defines Capitalism. Anyway, the people are beginning to awaken, & are now doing whatever they can to get the "masters" off our backs. I'm betting on two things: God in our hearts, & Capitalism, to throw off their shackles! Incidentally, why would you doubt the interview was with Castro? Anyway, I agree about holding with good principles. Maggiepie “Liberty means responsibility. great discussion! Love the Hollyweird phrase! Thank you for voicing your opinion especially about Michael Moore the idiot who thinks he is so bright and knows a little enough to be dangerous. ; )

I confess I'm not the originator of "Hollyweird." It was just so appropriate I had to swipe it! Yes, "useful idiots" (a Communist term) such as Moore should be forced to eat copies of every issue in which that interview was printed! And slapped silly! I'll volunteer to go first.
