Do you believe that Heaven is up there and hell is down here?

If heaven is a literal up and hell the literal down, then we are in hell according to those on the other side of the world! That's kind of a joke in the sense that it cannot simply be up because up for the people on the face of the earth goes out in all directions and the down goes toward the people on the other side of the planet. However, I do believe there is a place called heaven and a real place of hell. I do not believe there is a purgatory as there is no mention of it in the scriptures.

bible is what you need. faith in God is important. if you believe in Him, you will not ask questions, you'll just believe because of your faith. heaven and hell and also purgatory is what the people believe and it is up to you if you will also believe with it. but once you know Him better, you'll have your own interpretation of what to believe. only yourself can answer your question and the scriptures will guide you.

Hi melmabb, first of we all are human-beings and rest of the things are immaterial,at the same time by being a human we all again fall or comes from different different religion,which is again been given birth by we humans only and created so many different category and biased attitude,this the big mistake that we are committing each and every day,where by our daily deeds are shows us the road to heaven or hell. What I believe is that both the hell and the heaven are lying within ourselves and its our deed which makes Human or Inhuman ie either heaven or hell,Hence I should be care full about my deeds,that i do daily; it shouldn't be negative in nature and that is all one or all of must care about. I believe that Heaven and Hell can be found in the afterlife that is why we need to do a lot of good things while we're still alive. Otherwise, we'll be paying an eternity of hardship in a place full of fire. It is only a saying that Hell is on Earth because of the hardship that we encounter every now and then. Life on Earth can be a heavenly experience if good things happen in our lives.

We both believe that heaven is up there, and there is also a hell mention in the bible, but there is no writing where place it is exactly located. So, it is not our position to question of the things which only God knows where it is. Let us keep believing that there is hell, as Jesus said. I'm sure there is.

Heaven, purgatory or hell concepts are symbolic maturity level of soul's spiritual awareness and consciousness, or the Truths and the true love to be One with God.

If you had a map of Mystical places,Heaven and Hell would be listed, with God being a very old man sitting on a cloud with his feet hanging over the edge. Of Course Purgatory is not mentioned in the Bible because it was dreamed up by the Early Roman Catholic Church as a means of increasing tithing to the Church. I know how you are feeling about your Christian faith, because I experienced the same disillusions as a young man. There is no way you can ever make Religion clear and believable, because it is a Myth, not a science! You have a choice - either accept the Myth and go on Faith, or give it up, and begin to think for yourself.

Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory are basically taken from Dante's Inferno, Purgadisio, and Paradiso, and expanded by charismatic preachers and priests to scare folks into behaving. Heaven and Hell are a state of being not a physical place no matter what the Pope says. This earth will not last forever. Science proves that, eventually it will go the way of other solar systems. When that happens, what would happen to Hell and Heaven if they are physical Places? Yeah, think about it. When we die we will meet our Maker. If we have the courage we will face Him and acknowledge our sins and ask forgiveness. Our reward will be to spend eternity with Him. Heaven. If were harden our hearts and turn our backs without asking forgiveness, we will be denied His presence. Hell. This may sound simple, but I do not think that it will be simple to do. Shalom~Adoniah
