That fried peanut butter and jelly I've seen on T.V. looks really yummy. And that crispy fried fish sandwich recipe on the net sounds really good. How about that fried cheese sandwich? Haha... OMG, now I'm hungry. Have you tried them? I'm gonna whip up some mean fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich and let you all know how it taste...

do you mean a toastie?
where it's cooked in one of those grills that seals everything into the sandwich?
If so, I really like them with cheese and ham, or a breakfast one with bacon, scrambled egg and baked beans in it.
I don't have them very often though, because people don't tend to have the sandwich toasters anymore. there was a time when everyone had one sitting unused in the back of their cupboard.
but my friends mum still uses hers regularly, and we quite often have them for lunch when we visit.

Hi Galena! I love toasted bread too specially with butter melting on it or peanut butter chocolate melting on it, yum... But you must try fried sandwich, if your a sandwich lover like me. I saw it on tv. They put a filling on the sandwich like for example cheese and then they deep it w/ scrambled eggs and deep fried it until it's brown. I'm gonna give it a try this weekend. I can't wait.

deep fried? I'm not sure I like the sound of that. wouldn't it soak up lots of oil?
or you say about scrambled eggs, is this like eggy bread? where you beat an egg, dip the bread in the egg so it soaks it up, and then pan fry it?
these are the toastie makers I was thinking of. the sandwich goes in raw, but with the outside buttered. and then it toasts the sandwich.
it's very tasty, but when you use cheese it's often volcanically hot.

normally sandwiches are prepared as it is, fillings in between, and there, ready to it. but deep frying them puts a twist in your snack.. it's more exciting! and a bit different than what you have used to :)
i often use sliced bread, put the desired filling, roll it and apply eggwash then bread crumbs. then deep fry it... i even sliced it in smaller pieces and put toothpick.. this makes it less boring and fun to eat! :D
HAPPY EATING EVERYONE! :D

I have never had fried sandwiches, but I have had grilled sandwiches, those are so good. Panninis are the greatest. They are really delicious.

Hi santosmarichris, the people here tend to get all sort of foods fried. Frankly speaking they are pretty delicious compared to those which are not fried. For instance fried curry puff is always tastier than the roasted one for sure. I haven't tried cheese sandwich before but we usually prepare cheese and sardine sandwiches from slices of toasts.
Though I love the spicy fried tuna fish sandwich very much, I still avoid to take them often for they are too oily. I would suffer from mouth canker if taking deep fried stuffs often. I think the oily frying stuffs would harm our health seriously if taking frequently. For the sake of health I prefer not to take fried sandwich. since they are yummy heavenly it's no harm to take some fried sandwiches once in a while I think lol....
Happy posting

The closest thing I have had to a fried sandwich is either putting margarine in the frying pan and frying the sandwich that way, or using a grilled cheese sandwich maker that seals the cheese in. In the grilled cheese sandwich maker I have made grilled cheese of course, a peanut butter and jam one, and a peanut butter and banana one! They are all good!

I just watched a Paula Deen episode where she was making grilled peanut butter and banana sandwich (apparently Elvis Presley's favorite...lol). I have to say, it looked great. Lately I have been on a grilled cheese with tomoatoes sandwich. I use Pam instead of butter in the pan so hopefully it is too fattening.

Hi,
I do try to make egg coated sandwiches,it is pretty simple since I have
extra bread and few eggs at home.
It is also a great breakfast.
Firstly, I just need to beat some eggs, then soak the bread into the beaten egg
and pan fried on the nonstick pan,
then cut quartely and you can always add some honey or jam in between to make
it look like sandwiches.
Give it a try..you sure will love it.

I personally just don't know about these. Now, don't get me wrong, I really do like things that are fried from time to time. However, there is also a point at which I draw the line and I think the thought of a fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich would be way beyond the point at which I would draw the line. I am, however, interested in hearing how they turn out after you try it for yourself. So be sure to let us know.

I like sandwich and I make it with different ingredients both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. I don't like peanut butter, so I don't try anything with peanut butter in it, but my husband is very fond of peanuts and peanut butter. I can have some peanuts, but not peanut butter. We make grilled cheese sandwich sometimes, but I am not too fond of it. It is something we can make very easily.

I can't say I've tried, but I love French Toasts and when I do make some at home I fry them. So, in a sense it is a friend sandwich with just egg on it. And then I add the confectioners sugar and dip it in syrup...
Hmmm... now I'm hungry.
Maybe I should drive through at Jack's and get some french toast sticks!

I used to eat sandwich, the stuffed variety, but since my wife and me both have diabetic, we are not allowed to eat any more, just miss them..
Thanks for sharing.
Welcome always, cheers.
