i don't know if its because i'm getting older but christmas seems to comming round quicker each year. my mrs starts planning for the next christmas soon as boxing day is over, when i say planning she'll go and buy certain gifts that are cheaper, decorations if needed, wrapping paper etc
i used to think that this approach was crazy but now that i've reached my 40's i now go with the mrs bargain hunting and find this cuts down on a lot of the stress which comes with christmas
how early do you start your christmas shopping ? i don't mean food shopping just gifts etc

I sometimes start way back in the summer or earlier. This year, I started right after Christmas, but I only got a few things. I've been working at it a little at a time all year, though. I can find enough bargains to be able to buy nice things for less if there's enough time to look and wait for them.
BUT... I still start the major shopping around the middle of November, and try to finish up a couple of weeks before Christmas so I can do other things. I like to take my time. It's less stressful that way.

well, you are right. it is definitely starting earlier each year! i wonder the same but i think it all boils up with the commercialization of the season. there are widespread businesses related to christmas and the festive spirit boost up the buying power, it seems that people are magnetized to buy this and buy that and all the shopping malls, stores, tyangges, all around town are happy they get sales! the true spirit of christmas diminishes sadly, as time goes by.

I don't really plan this early but my sister does. Once the -ber months come, she starts buying and buying and buying stuff for Christmas whether gifts or decors. She likes having new decors every year.
