Traditional meals for Christmas here in America vary from region to region, because there are so many different cultures represented in our country. A lot of people cook turkey (or ham), stuffing (a.k.a. dressing if you are in the South), yams, peas, corn, etc. In other parts of the country, ducks may also be cooked. This generally represents the "traditional" holiday meal, however, it really all depends on what you really like. Many people just cook whatever their favorite meal happens to be, but here in the South where I live, most people will cook the more traditional holiday meal described above.

To play off of this comment since I am American as well, we have deep fried turkey, ham, stuffing(since I am in the north lol), corn, mashed potatoes, vegetable trays, yams, macaroni salad, deciles eggs, pumpkin pie, apple pie, and lots of other desserts. Man I can't wait until Christmas now haha

we eat a lot during Christmas because this also serves as our family reunion since it's my grandpa's birthday as well. We prepare spaghetti and carbonara, fried chicken, hotdogs, bar-b-que, we also make some salads, the Christmas 'hamonado' and cakes and ice creams.. hmmm... Christmas is coming!
